Kudos to Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano. She's seen the light and sent in the National Guard to help patrol the porous border of her state. She's also asking the federal government to pay for it. They should.
Last year we recounted a chilling tale from Tombstone, Ariz. Authorities were trying to stop illegal immigration from Mexico. But it wasn't Mexicans they were worried about. It was the "OTM" (other than Mexican) hoards that bothered them. These were folks dressed in clean T-shirts with American slogans and major league baseball caps over their short haircuts. And it wasn't Spanish coming out of their well-trimmed mustachioed mouths. It was Arabic and French. The chilling part is when one caravan they were driving in was stopped, over 20 of them got away.
The percentages of OTMs were growing. The reports, which eventually made it to the mainstream media, prompted the creation of a private vigilante force, The Minutemen. Regardless of what you think about that move, they were effective in drawing attention to the problem and actually made a difference in patrolling over 200 miles of "no-man's-land."
That particular stretch of border, southwest of Tucson and running through the old copper country desert, has one large government outpost, Fort Huachuca. It's an Army Intelligence training facility. These OTMs may not have been headed there to "scout it out." But where were they headed?
Now the Arizona governor has challenged the military to protect our borders. If Governor Schwarzenegger in California, Governor Perry in Texas and Governor Richardson in New Mexico sent in their National Guard to protect their borders it would send a powerful message to the White House. It would also send a message to Mexico and probably save some lives on the border. It could also save us from another attack.
Maybe it's too late for that, but sending in the National Guard to shore up our border with Mexico is long overdue. W. Clark Gallagher

Really? we must all be asleep, are our troops guarding that line right now?
This must be false. Napalitano is just posturing. This is the kind of story she wants. We know she will ASK for federal money for the Guard to go on the border. Is media so lazy, that asking for money equals putting troops there?

What? Does asking the feds to send troops, actually mean that you sent troops in yourself?
The writer of this story must have taken way to many drugs. The logic is inconsistant.
