FYI:

Congressman Brian Bilbray, head of the Immigration Reform Caucus, was just on the John & Ken Show (2/21) and gave an update on (Democrat and amnesty proponent) Joe Baca's 5-year visa amnesty scheme.

Basically, Baca found out that 47 House Democrats agree with enforcement of laws as the priority (referring to Heath Shuler's SAVE Act), along with about 90 Republicans.

Baca now looking to try to tag amnesty onto this to stop this (enforcement) bill. But he found out that twice as many Blue Dog Democrats are willing to join in these efforts (illegal immigration control) than there are members of the Latino Caucus (?).

SAVE is a national policy effort to do what Arizona has done, with teeth in it; Steve King's idea to eliminate the tax deduction out of employing illegals -- turn the immigration "INS" issue into a "IRS issue" where employers of illegals would be subject to tax audit.

Does Baca's 5-year visa plan have chance to pass? Bilbray advised to "keep our powder dry" and it may be needed to rally the troops (with talk radio etc.) TO KEEP AMNESTY OFF.

He also said Shuler (a Democrat) was dragged into the Democratic leadership's office (Pelosi) about his act. But 47 Democrats have signed onto the SAVE Act immigration enforcement bill as they want to get reelected.

Bilbray was asked what solid evidence would you need to see that the border is secured? His response: when he can drive down his street and know (see) it.
