A federal grand jury has indicted 51 people allegedly associated with the Azusa 13 street gang, accusing them of harassing and terrorizing blacks in the Azusa area in incidents dating back to 1992.

The 24-count indictment, scheduled to be announced at a U.S. Department of Justice press conference Tuesday morning, catalogues numerous alleged meetings at which gang members discussed targeting blacks in the area, and incidents in which blacks were beaten and robbed.

According to the indictment, the gang also allegedly taxes drug dealers in the Azusa area, passing some of the proceeds on to members of the Mexican Mafia prison gang, a practice common among many Latino street gangs in Southern California.

The Azusa gang paid taxes to a man the indictment identified only as "Mexican Mafia Member #1" until his death in December 2008.

Since then, the gang has allegedly paid drug taxes to three other members of the Mexican Mafia that the indictment does not identify.

In 1997, one gang member allegedly drew up a "business plan" for the gang to control drug trafficking in Azusa through violence, and urged gang members "to imagine the 'varrio' as a company, [and] imagine the homeboys as employees of this company," according to the indictment.

The gang, with more than 400 members, has been a force in the Azusa area since its formation in the 1960s.

Authorities said many of the gang members named in the indictment are already in custody.

LOS ANGELES -- A federal indictment has been unsealed that accuses a Latino street gang of conspiring to rid a Southern California city of black people through intimidation, threats and violence.

More than 50 people were charged Tuesday as authorities made morning raids that targeted the gang known as Azusa 13.

Federal prosecutors said the gang engaged in a host of crimes ranging from drug trafficking to hate crimes that has crippled Azusa since the early 1990s.

Six people have been charged with civil rights violations for allegedly harassing, and in some cases attacking, African Americans to drive them out of the city or to prevent them from relocating there.

More than two-thirds of Azusa, located 25 miles northeast of Los Angeles, is Hispanic, while roughly 3 percent is black.

To demonstrate its loyalty to the notoriously violent Mexican Mafia prison gang, an affiliate Latino street organization has worked to cleanse a southern California city of black residents by terrorizing, threatening and intimidating them.

Details of the decades-long genocide operation in the Los Angeles County city of Azusa are laid out in a huge grand jury indictment issued by the Department of Justice this week. More than 50 Latino gang bangers, many of them surely in the U.S. illegally, have been charged for targeting blacks by beating, robbing and threatening them.

The goal was to drive blacks out of the predominantly working-class Latino city of about 46,000. The crimes were committed by members of the Azusa 13 gang, which runs a sophisticated criminal enterprise financed with lucrative drug-trafficking proceeds. The gang also taxes the area’s drug dealers and shares some of the money with the Mexican Mafia, according to the 112-page indictment.

Latino gangs have for more than a decade targeted blacks in the sprawling southern California County, which is an illegal alien hotbed that has long offered sanctuary. In the last few years alone, dozens of Latino gangbangers have been charged with murdering, harassing or attacking blacks in the area, the feds say in their indictment.

As far back as 1999 the Azusa 13 was targeting blacks in the area, prosecutors say. That year a 17-year-old member named Ralph “Swiftyâ€

Sam Brooks of the SPLC's Immigrant Justice Project said the new law will set back progress Alabama has made on civil rights and race relations. He also said it would be costly for the state to enforce and defend the provisions of the law.

I don't know what Mr. Brooks means by that then.

Blacks are not the only ones being targeted though. They just have ample coverage by the press, for some odd reason. I remember reading how black slaves were brought into Texas to work the farms there, and they were there to do a job. One of those jobs was to not only labor, but to help win Texas as a U.S. Territory by fighting off the local raiding mexicans, with the help of their masters of course. If it weren't for slavery, Texas may have still belonged to mexico today.

Most Hispanics, including Mexicans, have at least a trace of African blood in them-so this is pure hypocrisy on their part. They call themselves "the cosmic race" because they assume themselves to be a superior race, because they are mixed-bloods of the three major ethnic groups of mankind, the theory being if the entire human population in the world were all-mixed race, there wouldn't be anymore prejudice-but this proves that not only does that theory not work (they aren't being a "bridge" to the seperate ethnic groups that they descended from), but these people are equal in bigotry to the KKK-so they aren't any better!!

That is right. If they are indeed perfect, like the Black Panthers believe they are, it is only fair that they keep that greed to themselves.
