Call White House & RNC to protest exclusion of Tancredo

While Cong. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) is not going to be invited to the Southern Republican Leadership Conference (SRLC), all Tancredo supporters should vent our anger at this exclusion one last time. The SRLC has invited sixteen potential presidential candidates, but excluded Cong. Tancredo.

It appears that Karl Rove was ultimately behind the exclusion of Cong. Tancredo from the SRLC. His telephone number at the White House is (202) 456-2369. Please call his office and leave a comment about his apparent participation in the exclusion of Cong. Tancredo from the SRLC. Please let Mr. Rove know that you support Cong. Tancredo.

The toll-free number for the White House is 1-800-321-8268. The telephone number for the White House comment line is (202) 456-1111.

Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman should also hear from Republicans irate about Cong. Tancredo's exclusion. The telephone number for the Republcan National Committee is (202) 863-8700. His e-mail address is Chairman@gop.com. Please let Chairman Mehlman know that you support Cong. Tancredo.

tancredofan, has Representative Tancredo talked at all about a third party?

some people are itching for him to create or join a third party. Ive heard alot of talk that if ever times were ripe for a third party win, it is now.

I've not heard him say anything about a third party run nor have I read any comments from him about a third party run.

If he chose to run as a third party candidate, Cong. Tancredo would face many of the same problems that Pat Buchanan faced in 2000. First, and most important, he probably would not be allowed into the presidential debates. That would almost kill any chance to win the presidency. Second, he would not have nearly enough money to run a credible third party campaign. Pat Buchanan received a little over thirteen million dollars (as I recall) of federal money as the nominee of the Reform Party, but that was hardly a drop in the bucket of what was needed for a credible third party presidential campaign. Third, ballot access is very difficult in some states for third party presidential candidates. I don't believe that Pat Buchanan ever was able to get on the ballot in 2000 in Michigan.

I like your idea of a third party run, but under the circumstances as they presently are, I hope that Cong. Tancredo runs as a Republican. He will at least be allowed into the televised debates that precede the caucuses and primaries.

    Thanks.
