Can Republicans win over Hispanic voters?

That question was on the minds of many political operatives and pundits after the 2008 election. The theory was that the GOP was becoming a regional (Southern) party of white males. The Republican Party, some commentators argued, was in danger of extinction if it could not appeal to an electorate becoming more pluralistic every year. In 2004 George W. Bush won 44 percent of the Hispanic vote; the idea that Republicans could get even close to that share seemed like a distant hope after President Obama’s election.

But in 2012 opportunities abound for the GOP. In July of this year Gallup reported that support for Obama among Hispanics had dipped almost more than 20 points since his election. His frantic efforts to woo Hispanic voters disappointed over his failure to deliver on immigration reform suggests the White House is well aware of the danger of losing Hispanic voters. And with the election of prominent Hispanics including Sen. Marco Rubio, New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez and Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, Republicans are beginning to shed their all-white image. Moreover, with an unemployment rate of over 11 percent for Hispanics, Republicans have an opening to explain their own message on growth, jobs, and education.

Exactly.

Our Constitution was never designed for a political force of large voting blocks of illegal aliens to be able manipulate government elections, let alone our national destiny.

It simply did not take this phenomenon into account, presuming Americans would ALWAYS DEFEND THEIR OWN BORDER

I know alot of hispanics, living in so cal and most of the ones I talk to do not want illegals here anymore than we do. I think alot of the hype of hispanics just voting for dems is just that - dem hype. They control the media, therefore they can say what they want, right or wrong.

If you want to be an american, you must put aside your race. Americans are all races and the laws and rules should be applied equally. Race or gender should never be a deciding factor on anything. I can never understand why our politicians feel that because your family broke the law to get here entitles you to have the tax payers pay your higher education. Why does illegal make them special as far as education, benies etc. School registration should be for Americans and kids with student visas. We also should let in people that are the brightest. We are importing poverty. As far as free trade agreements, they are screwing the country we are trading with.

Only in America do ILLEGAL ALIENS go on TELEVISED PROTESTS and DEMAND that laws be ERASED from the law books so they CANNOT BE DETECTED or deported.
