Hispanic News beginning with Act Arizona (Act Arizona Political Action Committee), a concept of changing Arizona from Red to Blue, now establishes Act America to address national issues such as immigration reform by using a Political Action Committee to support America's Hispanics.

There are many sincere efforts by individuals, groups and organizations to advance immigration reform, but the only way to obtain immigration reform is to defeat five United States senators who in 2006-2007 were instrumental in defeating immigration reform with their anti-Hispanic vitriolic rhetoric. These five senators are John McCain and Jon Kyl of Arizona, Kay Hutchinson and John Cornyn of Texas and Jess Sessions of Alabama.

The purpose of Act Arizona is to change Arizona from Red to Blue. To gain immigration reform, Arizona, Texas and Alabama must be changed from Red to Blue.

In addition to Arizona, Texas and Alabama, there are other states that have Republican senators that do not support the growth of the Hispanic community in America.

Republican Sens. David Vitter of Louisiana and Bob Bennett of Utah proposed an amendment to an appropriations bill that would have stopped funding of the 2010 Census unless changes are were made that would have excluded undocumented immigrants from the population count used to allocate congressional seats after the 2010 Census. It also would have required the Census to ask people whether they are citizens. The proposed amendment was defeated.

Act America is not only about Arizona, Texas and Alabama. When these three states go from Red to Blue, ALL of America's Hispanics will benefit. This means Maria Lopez in New Hampshire, Jose Sanchez in Alaska and even Lena Alonzo in Iowa would share in America's celebration of Hispanic growth of the USA.

Act America is for all states in the USA. Whichever state you live in, work with us to make change across America beginning with your state.

If you are not from Arizona, Texas or Alabama, or another "Red" state, you can still participate by making a donation to make change. If you already live in a "Blue" state, Act America still needs your help to advance America's Hispanic community.

If you do not believe in contributing to political campaigns, then you do not understand American politics; consequently, no change will be forthcoming. It is only with campaign contributions that change in America will advance America's Hispanic community.

In May 2010, Hispanic News/Act America will register with the Federal Election Commission and proceed to open a bank account to receive donations to support candidates in the November 2010 congressional elections who will advance America's Hispanic community.

If you are from Texas or Alabama, work with Act America to make change in your state. If you are from any other state and want to make change in your state and you support immigration reform, contact us using information below.

Hispanic News will work in partnership with Act America to form the Hispanic News/Act America Political Action Committee and where articles supporting the mission of the Hispanic News/Act America Political Action Committee will be published.

The New West is Hispanic and the Future of the New America

PHOENIX (By Jon Garrido, The Jon Garrido News Network) November 6, 2008 ― On November 4, 2008, Hispanics overwhelmingly voted for Barack Obama for President of the United States giving Obama 67 percent of the Hispanic vote to McCain's 31 percent.

Mr. Obama did strikingly better among Hispanic voters than Mr. Bush's 40% in 2004. This reinforces acknowledgement of the damage the Republican Party has suffered among Hispanic voters over four years in which Republicans have been at the forefront on the effort to crack down on undocumented immigrants.

On October 13, 2006, to begin laying the ground work for the 2008 presidential election, Hispanic News began the 2008 Election Center with the first article published "1964 Civil Rights Act" re-publishing the words of Martin Luther King, Jr. given on August 28, 1963.

"I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.

I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit down together at the table of brotherhood.

I have a dream that one day even the state of Mississippi, a state sweltering with the heat of injustice, sweltering with the heat of oppression, will be transformed into an oasis of freedom and justice.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

To date, 174 articles were published in the 2008 Hispanic News Election Center first supporting Hillary Clinton then Barack Obama.

On april 23, 2008, Hispanic News began a news section "John McCain Exposed" with Hispanic News publishing 33 articles revealing the real John McCain.

The first article in the series "McCain Claims He will be President of all the People. Let Him Prove it in Phoenix" with a sidebar: "This is a new section at Hispanic News to tell America, McCain has become 'got the message' McCain to end comprehensive immigration reform from happening in 2009. In Phoenix, McCain needs to call for the ouster of Sheriff Joe 'Bull Conner' Arpaio but we all know McCain supports Joe Arpaio."

On June 6, 2008, the large image of Barack Obama appeared on the Hispanic News front page and remains there to this day. It will remain until after the inauguration on January 20, 2009.

On October 27, 2008, Hispanic News formally published: "Hispanic News Endorses Barack Obama for President of the United States."

On this date, November 6, 2008, today's article is the highlight of the entire series: "The New West is Hispanic and the Future of the New America."

In the 2008 presidential election, Hispanics carried Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico and California. The New West is Hispanic and gave the 2008 victory to Barack Obama to become President of the United States.

It is not only U.S./Mexico border states that have explosive Hispanic growth but is evident in every state in the United States.

The Hispanic population, already the nation's largest minority group, 42 million in 2005, will rise to 128 million in 2050, tripling in size. Hispanics will be 29% of the population, compared with 14% in 2005. As the fastest growing major race or ethnic group, the Hispanic population will account for 60% of the nation’s growth during the 2005–2050.

In 2006, the United States Census Bureau projected "In 2097, 50% of the entire United States will be Hispanic. Blacks, Asians and Hispanics will become 96% of the entire United States."

In Phoenix, Arizona, the Hispanic population in 2006 according to U.S. Census Bureau data was 41% and has grown in 2007 to 43%, an increase of 2%. At this rate of increase, Hispanics will become the Phoenix majority population in 2010.

Population is one of the prime factors for the Electoral College

The United States elects the President of the United States using the Electoral College which consists of the popularly elected representatives who formally select the President and Vice President of the United States. Since 1964, the electoral college has had 538 electors. In 2008, it will make this selection on December 15.

Each state has a number of electors equal to the number of its Senators and Representatives (determined by population) in the United States Congress.

Each elector casts one vote for President and one vote for Vice President. In order to be elected, a candidate must have a majority since 1964, at least 270 of the electoral votes cast for that office.

In 2008, Hispanics gave Obama victory in Nevada (5), Colorado (9), New Mexico (5), and California (55) for a total of 74 electoral votes. McCain carried Arizona (10) as the favorite son receiving 1,012,878 votes (54%) and Obama 851,589 votes (45%).

Had McCain not been a favorite son, it is probable Obama may have picked up Arizona considering the polls leading up to November 4 indicated Obama was becoming competitive with McCain.

In 2012, the probability Obama will carry Arizona is high giving Obama a total of 84 votes in the 5 state New West region.

In, Texas, McCain received 4,467,748 votes (55.5%) and Obama 3,521,164 votes (43.8%). In the foreseeable future, Texas will be added to the New West region adding its 34 electoral votes to the 84 providing for a total of 118 electoral votes in the New West region which will then have 44% of the total electoral votes cast in the United States.

On February 1, 2008, California Hispanics were about 40 percent of the state's population. On July 2, 2008, Hispanics were 14 percent of California voters and 61 percent are Democrats to account for about 20 percent of the Democratic vote on Tuesday providing 61% (6,219,123 voters) for Obama and 37% (3,777,314 voters) for McCain.

On July 1, 2007, Arizona Hispanics account for 1.9 million, or 29.7 percent, of Arizona's population of 6,338,755 of whom 2,987,451 are registered voters. 673,000 are eligible Hispanic voters in Arizona.

Hispanics are like other Americans concerned about the same issues with two additional concerns: Immigration and Discrimination

On December 24, 2007, Hispanic News wrote a letter to Ms. Diane Humetewa, U.S. Attorney for Arizona, concerning Civil Rights violations against Hispanics from Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Ms. Humetewa, your office has criminal jurisdiction to enforce Civil Rights Acts like 42 USC 1841 et seq which provide punishment for public officials who discriminate against, or seek to deny, the civil rights of any racial or ethnic group. The same applies to any violation of the 8th Amendment incorporated into the 14th which bars cruel and unusual punishments or deprivation of liberty or life without due process.

There appears to be substantial evidence Sheriff Arpaio and his deputies are engaged in racial profiling and making pre-textual traffic stops in an effort to find undocumented immigrants so as to get ICE to deport them. Because we believe some or all of these stops — or at least the questioning and searches that ensue — are pre-textual, we believe they endanger the rights of all Hispanic or brown-skinned-looking people — regardless of their immigration status; and of course, the 14th
Amendment covers all persons — not just citizens — so those here legally on tourist or green-card visas are affected even if they are in fact non-citizen Hispanic-Americans.

Further, one of your predecessors as U.S. Attorney, Janet Napolitano, was investigating Sheriff Arpaio for Civil Rights violations in his jail before she resigned to seek another office in 1998. I would ask that you re-open and update that investigation in light of the many federal and state court verdicts showing actions by the Sheriff that violate the 8th and/or 14th Amendments, some involving death of inmates due to such violations.

I'm sure the FBI can find sufficient evidence, and ask you present this to a Federal Grand Jury as soon as sufficient evidence is available to justify an Indictment.

To date, Hispanic News has never received a response from the Bush Administration regarding Arpaio

On the last day as U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona in 1998, Napolitano held a joint press conference with Joe Arpaio where Napolitano announced she was ending the U.S. Attorney civil rights investigation of Joe Arpaio. Shortly thereafter, Arpaio endorsed Napolitano for Governor. If the civil rights investigation had proceeded, it would have undoubtedly found Arpaio guilty ending the Arpaio office as Maricopa County Sheriff.

It is rumored there was a quid pro quo with Arpaio with Napolitano putting her ambition ahead of justice. The result — to this day, Arpaio continues the mockery of arresting people with brown faces who happen to have a broken tail light as a pretense for deporting the undocumented the same day to Mexico. It was also Napolitano who signed the E-Verification bill requiring all working in Arizona be certified to have a valid Social Security card.

The loss of some 350,000 Mexicans from Arizona's labor force has had an devastating economic impact on the loss of Arizona sales revenue.
Napolitano and Arpaio are not friends of the Phoenix Hispanic community and neither are any of the persons who endorse or work for them.


"Napolitano, who has never been married or had children, has long been the subject of a whisper campaign about her sexuality, including some dirty campaign tricks in 2002 when 'vote gay' fliers were posted next to her campaign signs. She is not gay, she has said, 'just a straight, single workaholic.' " ― The Arizona Republic, Sept 24, 2006.

It is not important she is gay. What is important is she apparently lies to voters about her sexuality. If she lies about small things, she can lie about big things.

Should Napolitano be nominated, under oath, Napolitano would probably never received Senate confirmation on her nomination because undoubtedly Napolitano will be asked about her sexuality and because on the record she denies she is a homosexual, she will probably turn out to be an embarrassment for the Obama administration.
If Napolitano is nominated, Hispanic News will oppose any confirmation of Napolitano and will marshal other Hispanic groups in the United States to oppose the nomination for fear Napolitano will pursue the anti-Hispanic programs she promoted as Arizona governor which will duplicate the Bush ICE raids still being conducted across the United States.
