Chicago Numbers Down in First Day of Early Voting

Chicago numbers dipped Monday compared to 2010 on the first day of early voting in advance of the March 18 Primary Election.
An unofficial total of 1,601 early voting ballots were cast, down from the first day total of 2,035 in 2010. However, the total is higher than the 2010 General Election's Early Voting first-day total of 412.
Each Chicago ward has one early-voting location. The office of the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners is also available for early voting.
Voters may use any location in the city, regardless of where they live, and they don't need a reason or excuse to take vote. Government-issued photo identification is required, however.
The ballots cast during Early Voting, which will be open through Sat., March 18, are final and may not be amended.
