Show and Tell --because some don't believe it's that bad

I just talked to a cousin who lives in an area where illegal aliens are few and far between. She is in denial it's as bad as I tell her in California. She insists I'm exaggerating when I tell her every little neigborhood, every schoolyard, is unrecognizable from 10 years ago. It's time to convince her, and others like her, who only believe what they see.

I don't own a camera but I've seen the videos of demonstrations, marches, day hire sites etc. YouTube and Google have quite a few, some evidently posted by members of Alipac. Unfortunately there's none that show the depressing changes in our neighborhoods.

It would be instructive to show what is happening here. Our neighborhoods are so overrun with illegals that we may as well be Mexico. Regular street scenes would make good video. I think it's legal to videotape in public places, malls, restaurants, streets, etc. If you act like a tourist or a student filmmaker you cold film most anything.

It would help to identify the city, and/or area. What do you see day to day? Nothing particularly dramatic is needed, only stores and businesses, signs, multiple cars, or whatever.

Maybe it's time to show the rest of America just what is happening and how bad the invasion is. They may be surprised how soon Mexico is coming to a neighborhood near them.

    Any takers?

Show her this evidence from my town... We were once an almost one race blue collar town. I want and appreciate diversity for my children -but we have gone to the other end of the spectrum.

fedup, you need to title this "Yes this is America!".

Justsayno, some people are in total denial. They want to keep their blinders on so they can live their lives thinking all is ok, and they will have to make no effort to go out of their way to get involved.

Then there is the crowd that is so blind they think most of us have gone off the deep end and are just a bunch of conspiracy theorists.

Actually not all that far from there she's in a small Montana community not far from the Canadian border.

She's also not in denial, per se. But just doesn't see much of a problem locally. I can't convince her to read the forums here, plus she's not much of a reader. She doesn't have a tv (or at least a working one) but has gotten her news from the radio. Guess they didn't cover the marches as much. Newspapers there are local ones and unless she gets a paper from Helena or Missoula she may not be getting the big picture.

Our phone conversations are limited, the few times I've managed to steer it to this issue she thinks I'm grossly exaggerating. Lately she has learned to use a computer at a local community center and I am trying to point out sites that would show what is happening here.

Ok, so it's only one person at a time, but you have to start somewhere.

Fedup, the links you posted will do a lot to convince her, if I can get her to take a look. Thanks. I think a lot of people will benefit from a peek at our lives here.

I had to check a car rental agency today and found the block adjacent to it was all Hispanic businesses, no English on the signs at all. Guys hanging out in front of the stores were all Mexican. The women shopping there were either pregnant or herding a slew of kids. Nothing wrong with pregnancy or children, only why are MY taxes being used for maternity care of people who shouldn't be here anyway ?

OK I don't have pictures yet but I live about 45 minutes from Charlotte NC and it is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy out of control here They over run our Walmart and most the others shopping centers. I will get pics a of just how bad when I go out which isnt very often except when I go pick up my kids at school. This is a small town or use to be and I can probably say 75 % of our population is Latinos, I lived in Mrytle Beach SC for about 6 months and it is not quit as bad but it is still bad and the guy my husband worked for worked these Illegals and payed them cash which put them making about 11.00 and hour cash , So we didnt stay long because my husband couldnt find another job so I came back here and my husband and brother inlaw started their own Brick Mason company and they will NOT hire anyone who doesn't speak english and are trying to get the contractors they work for to hire American Sheet rockers and Roofer and so on, and we just wish there was something else we could do but as everyone know MONEY TALKS when it comes to people without Morals . Does anyone know is there are Latinos in Amish communities ? Maybe that is were I belong
Every immigrant who comes here should be required within five years to learn English or leave the country.

I agree Elizabeth, there is a portion of Americans , that are very afraid to see the truth about illegal immigration.

Along the main street in my small town we have just one restaurant, and this is it. It doubles as a day labor hang out in the morning.

I'm repeating a post I just made in another forum. Sorry for the double post but I think this site is interesting and can be eye opening.

I found this site this morning when I was researching something for work. It may give you an idea of how invaded you are.

    http://www.city-data.com/

Plug your city and state into the search box and it will give you a lot of statistics. Be sure to click the link: (your towns name) residents, houses, and apartments details on that page. The link is right under the map on my towns page. The link has info about when the foreign born population came to the town you are looking up. Here's the info for my town:

Year of entry for the foreign-born population (3424 people)

    1995 to March 2000: 1279
    1990 to 1994: 877
    1985 to 1989: 678
    1980 to 1984: 319
    1975 to 1979: 136
    1970 to 1974: 58
    1965 to 1969: 29
    Before 1965: 48

My town has a population of 10,000. I'm also sure that a lot of the population is anchor babies. They don't give that statistic.
