Any suggestions?
I went to the salon this morning for a perm. There was 7 women and 1 man at that early hour. ONLY ONE WOMAN knew ANYTHING about the illegals, and only because she had seen the NJ killings on the news. The MAN about age 55) looked at me like I was crazy. Most of the women
(late 20's to early 60's) said they don't watch the news. And our local paper doesn't mention the illegals.
I mentioned that the illegals were piling up in the southeastrn part of the state, were seriously impacting the hospitals in Philly, and asked how long did they think it would take for them to spread to this area. NO COMMENT.
The ignorance on this subject is outrageous and I find it totally appalling.
Wherever one goes, bringing up the subject of illegals, just isn't a subject anyone is interested in. It won't be of interest until they have these people crammed 40 to a house, next door to them!!!!
Now that NJ is going 287g, a lot of the illegals will move. As yet, Pennsylvania has no laws on illegals, so guess where a lot of them will come!
Any suggestions?

This was like the H-1B issue was 6 years ago - unless you'd been personally impacted, you didn't know. We did a lot of posting on public forums (relevant or not) to stimulate discussion and awareness. We also endured a lot of scoffing and insults and still do. What about local online news publications and magazines? Is the issue there, could it be injected via user comment?

I taliked to a middle aged lady at the airport recently about our illegal alien plight. I was also appalled that she knew so little about it but was shocked when I filled her in on the details. She said she was going to investigate the matter when she arrived back home in Oregon!@

And yes, the "news" is not the place to go to find anything abou this because they are in the pocket of big business and big business loves all these new customers (illegals).
There is no way to open their eyes to it until those 40 illegals are living next door to them, I am afraid.

Good that you convinced this lady to look into it. It's easy to ignore a fire in your neighbors barn...until it starts burning your fields.

Most people work 9-5, come home and do the housework while the kids watch cartoons. They don't have time to watch more than 30-60 minutes of tv, usually one of the liberal mainstream media channels. Thus most people are ignorant of anything actually going on in their country outside of their tiny little bubble.

Go into the chat rooms once in awhile. You'll find democrates that will vote for their party. When you ask them about issues such as illegals they have no clue. They will call you a lier. I go there just to rile them up and tell them before they give their freedom away they need to research and find out just exactly how the candidates stand on all the issues. I always direct them to join a forum like this and pray atleast one does. Figure the odds.
I think whether you watch the news or not, you don't see it. Until it's in your backyard. It's not in my yard, but I've been fighting this for years.
I do get tired of seeing how many don't have any idea. If it's your country you should know what is going on!I'd rather die living then live dying!

Awhile back I had to go into the hospital overnight for a sleep test. I was talking to the woman taking the test .... I passed on the Alipac website to her and gave her some you tube videos to watch. She seemed very interested.
I mentioned how I felt about illegal immigration to my regular doctor and her reply was she wasn't sure how she felt about it... I can't understand HOW people do NOT understand that this is a SERIOUS PROBLEM!!!!!Please help save America for our children and grandchildren... they are counting on us. THEY DESERVE the goodness of AMERICA not to be given to those who are stealing our children's future! ... and a congress who works for THEM!
