A damning report from Axios revealed that the Biden administration – already a clown show in itself – was thrown into chaos over the ongoing migrant crisis.
The Feb. 12 exclusive report revealed that "infighting, blame-shifting and indecision" has gotten in the way of repairing the immigration crisis that they had created. In a nutshell, Biden and his mood are to blame for the border crisis, and his team is a group of idiots.
According to the outlet, President Joe Biden allegedly exploded with anger in January 2023 while aboard Air Force One. The president's outburst was triggered by his team's inability to deliver obscure data he was demanding at the time.
"Biden's fury subsided, and aides scrambled for the information he wanted," Axios recounted. "People in the meeting later told others in frustration thathis winding process and irritability were making it more difficult to reach decisions about the border."
Moreover the border crisis prompted Biden to embrace "immigration policies he ran against in 2020 — such as restricting asylum laws and suggesting he'll 'shut down' the border."
Biden's team ceased holding undocumented families in U.S. detention centers – a practice under Presidents Bush, Obama and Trump – in favor of monitoring people utilizing ankle bracelets and other technology. Then, as conditions worsened, Biden contemplated restoring the detention program.
In another instance, the administration extended temporary protections for Venezuelans in the United States. But weeks later, it declared plans to deport Venezuelans for the first time in years.
"The White House generally didn't want to talk publicly about immigration or the border for much of Biden's first three years, feeling it would draw attention to a political vulnerability," the Axios report stated. "Publicly, the White House also initially downplayed jumps in illegal border crossings as normal "ebbs and flows" — even as some internally pushed to acknowledge that the problem was significant." Biden admin officials also fighting against each other

The Axios piece underlined a combination of infighting, incompetence and indifference concerning the administration's handling of the border over the past three years. It also recounted several instances of this internal conflict, mainly involving then-Domestic Policy Advisor Susan Rice – who left the Biden administration in May 2023.
In one instance, insulted Health Secretary Xavier Becerra and privately called him an "idiot." During one meeting where Biden was admonishing Becerra, Rice passed Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas a note reading: "Don't save him." This instance of the advisor dissuading Mayorkas from covering for Becerra was confirmed by two people familiar with the meeting.
Aside from Becerra, Rice also crossed swords with Homeland Security Advisor Liz Sherwood-Randall and Vice President Kamala Harris herself. The rivalry between the vice president and domestic policy advisor arose when Harris was selected as Biden's running mate instead of Rice. "[The domestic policy advisor] later told people she thought Harris and her team were partly responsible for opposition research that resulted in negative coverage," Axios continued.
Moreover, the report also said Rice appeared to others as someone taking pride in being more informed on the border than Harris. Some of the vice president's aides found Rice to be disrespectful to the second-highest official in the land, and dismissively referred to the former United Nations ambassador as just a "staffer."
The heart of the matter is America being headed by a man who is too senile to prosecute, and whose administration is entirely dysfunctional.
