Club for Growth endorses Ted Cruz

Club for Growth endorses Ted Cruz

    By Theodore Schleifer, CNN
Updated 1:32 AM ET, Wed March 23, 2016 | Video Source: CNN

Washington (CNN) The Club for Growth made its first ever presidential endorsement, backing Ted Cruz for president early Wednesday and giving him another boost in his uphill fight for the GOP nomination.

"Ted Cruz is the best free-market, pro-growth, limited-government candidate in the presidential race," the group's president, David McIntosh, said in a statement. "The Club's PAC has never endorsed in a presidential race, but this year is different because there is a vast gulf between the two leading Republican candidates on matters of economic liberty."

The endorsement is not unexpected. Early in the race, the group encouraged its donors to contribute to five candidates, including Cruz, and the other four Republicans have all exited the race. The Club has been one of the leading groups spending money against Donald Trump and it also has had sharp words for Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

The group has said it is considering airing pro-Cruz television spots in addition to the $5.8 million it has already spent on anti-Trump ads so far in the race.

Club for Growth is Cruz single largest contributor in their category. Goldman Sachs is the largest contributor in their category. I really don't think most Americans want a Republican nominee owned by the same people as Hillary Clinton. Pro-immigration, pro-free trade treason on a silver platter? I don't think so. But, we'll find out soon enough.

Pro-Amnesty Club for Growth PAC Spends Millions To Attack Candidate Donald Trump Using Pro-Rubio Media Firms…

Posted on November 2, 2015 by sundance

Similar to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce – “Club for Growth” is a Political Action Committee who support: Amnesty, H1B visa growth programs, ObamaCare and the anti-American Trans-Pacific Trade Deal.

CfG also has deep connections to Goldman Sachs and former banking executives.

Club For Growth only supports candidates who support their “open borders”/ “globalist” objectives: ♦ Amnesty ♦ Comprehensive Immigration Reform ♦ Trans-Pacific Trade Deal

Their current favored candidates are Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz. From September 1st through September 30th Club For Growth spent $3.3 Million on attack ads against Donald Trump. FEC Filing:

    CLUB FOR GROWTH

The Club for Growth is a national network of over 100,000 pro-growth, limited government Americans who share in the belief that prosperity and opportunity come from economic freedom.

Club for Growth is the leading free-enterprise advocacy group in the nation. We win tough battles and we have an enormous influence on economic policy.
In fact, we are the only organization that is willing and able to take on any Member of Congress on policy who fails to uphold basic economic conservative principles…regardless of party.

We do this by pinpointing key bills up for debate in Congress and exerting maximum pressure on lawmakers to vote like free-market, limited government conservatives. And when they don’t, we hold them accountable by publicizing their voting record.

THE CLUB FOR GROWTH HAS A TREMENDOUSLY POWERFUL THREE-PRONGED APPROACH WHEN IT COMES TO INFLUENCING THE WAY LAWMAKERS VOTE ON KEY ECONOMIC LEGISLATION.

    1. We issue Key Vote Alerts to all Congressional officers so that Senators and Representatives know exactly how they should vote on proposed legislation.
    2. We publish yearly Congressional Scorecards so that constituents know whether or not their legislators are voting in favor of tax cuts, reduced spending,
    and pro-growth policy.

    3. We run hard-hitting independent issue ads on television and radio that expose to constituents the truth about where politicians stand on harmful bills that could raise taxes, increase regulations,
and expand the role of the government. NO politician wants to bature of one of our ads.

Some of the Club’s top policy goals include:

    • Reducing income tax rates and repealing the death tax
    • Replacing the current tax code with a fair/flat tax
    • The full repeal of ObamaCare and the end of abusive lawsuits through medical malpractice/tort reform
    • Reducing the size and scope of the federal government
    • Cutting government spending and passing a Balanced Budget Amendment to the United States Constitution
    • Regulatory reform and deregulation
    • School choice

In the 2012 election, many of Club for Growth supported some of the GOP's most vocal opponents of immigration legislation.
The group supported Ted Cruz who did not support immigration legislation.
They were a major supporter of Rep. Steve King who was outspoken on his anti-immigrant movement.
They were also cheerleading for Senate Candidate Paul Broun, who believes that immigration reform is part of a ploy to doom America and destroy our Constitution.

The primary funders of Club for Growth are the Koch Brothers who support comprehensive immigration reform. They have other interests as well, some of which I agree with, but they definitely support immigration growth. Also, in 2013, Ted Cruz supported legalization of illegal aliens but without citizenship and supported doubling the number of green cards from 675,000 per year to 1.3 million per year, and he also supported increasing the number of H1B visas from 50,000 a year to more than 300,000 per year.

These positions were compatible with the Club for Growth platform that funded him in 2012.

Ted Cruz also was a huge advocate of the TPP, wrote an OP-Ed for the Wall Street Journal with his buddy Paul Ryan, and went on a media PR tour promoting the advantages of the TPP.

I've posted all this information months ago on Ted Cruz positions on immigration and trade, soon after he lied to the American People in the Debate on December 15, 2015 about his immigration stances. That's when I knew he was a Liar. He had a big decision to make when he was corned by Rubio in that debate, he could either tell the truth and confess to his true position, he could claim he had "evolved" and changed his position now that he's learned more about the issue and how the American People feel about it, or he could lie. It took 3 questions by Rubio and 2 from a moderator during the debate as Cruz tried to duck the question, so he had plenty of time to decide which way he was going to go, and he decided to lie to 18 million Americans watching the debate.

There may be other reasons people want to vote for Ted Cruz, whatever reasons they are, that's their business. But to me, Ted Cruz is not the guy to fix the immigration and trade issues plaguing our country.

There's two issues embedded in the immigration and trade debates, what's best for our country overall, and what's best for certain small but wealthy elements in our country. Our political process needs a perverted combination of both to win elections up til now, that's why we're in this mess. The small wealthy elements need votes from the country at large to put the candidates in office, so for them to win, they have to come up with these perverted two-sided forked-tongue deceitful scenarios and hope that's enough to prevail. So far that's worked for them and they're destroying our country in the process.

I hope enough Americans figure it out this year so we have a one-sided all for the country candidate from the Republican Party.

We can go back and forth all night. You can quote your source and I can quote mine. Everyone is guilty by association, that is except Trump. Believe me if it is a Purest you want then you are backing the wrong horse.

It's no problem, Sherry. You can support whoever you want. It doesn't matter. I'm not interested in a purist. I want someone who truly believes in securing our borders and protecting our trade and that person is Donald Trump. That's what he's wanted for all the right reasons for at least 30 years, not to win an election, not to run for office, but because he knows our country is going down the tubes if we don't get it back on track fast.

He has a great life with far more pleasant things to do that trudge around in heavy bullet-proof vest as a candidate for President of the United States wondering what fool infiltrated the event to take him out and waking up every day to false and nasty allegations of being a racist, bigot, misogynist and xenophobe. There's only one reason Donald Trump is in this race risking his money, his business and his life for the American People and the United States. And that's because he loves this country more than himself and wants to fix it

If you don't see that, fine, have at it. Vote for Cruz. It doesn't matter what an individual voter does in this election, it takes millions and millions of Americans who will decide to either elect someone who will fix the country or someone who won't.

It's that simple. We'll find out soon enough what the majority wants.

    And then, so be it.
