Thread: On CNN NOW: small scale smugglers not prosecuted

Was just announced on CNN, in relation to the story about the immigrant smuggler shot crossing the border from Mexico, that it is a secret among border patrol agents that if you are not smuggling 12 or more people across the border, you won't be prosecuted!

One border patrol agent said it has been this way for years and that he saw cases where there were people coming across again and again after being deported....and that because you can't be prosecuted for less than 12 aliens in your vehicle, this makes for effectively an open door at the border....they just have to make more trips!
