We had a rule once in this country, that if an article was published in a foreign language of any kind, an English translation had to be provided along side of it. How things have changed. Our language, our culture is being threatened.....you can watch it happen day by day, week by week and year by year.
You're right, there is some sort of concerted effort to change the identity and culture of this country from an English speaking one to Spanish with Hspanic culture being made the dominant one. Use to be that immigrants were encouraged to assimilate to our culture and language but nowadays multi-culturerism is encourged. I don't care what language or culture one practices at home and I have nothing against ethnic business neighborhoods but otherwise our identifying culture should remain in tack.

Note that this encouragement of Spanish was not promoted before the arrival of millions of illegal alien Spanish speakers. Most Hispanic Americans know English so it isn't they that are being pandered to.
One of the biggest contributors to the problem we have today was the 1982 Supreme Court decision that we have Justice Brennan to thank for. In actually, it was technically a "footnote" In truth, it was one of the most destructive "footnotes" that we as Americans have ever had to live with.

The following link tells it all. http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=38409

FIrst of all the USA needs to do away with ALL bilingual forms and paperwork, do away with ALL signs that are in spanish (exept at the border where they should read "KEEP OUT", stop ALL of the press one for english or two for spanish....This is AMERICA...ENGLISH SPOKEN HERE!!!!!. If they want spanish tv then let the signals be received in mexico and let them watch it there and not here. Latinos are not the chosen people, not special, not gifted, nor are they to expect anything special in treatment. Their press pumps them up with articles that make it sound like they are the majority. Sad reality is they are being mislead by hyspanicaly speaking news, latino press and scores of other spanish rags that live off of the lies and one sided presentation of the news. Slanting it like the illegals are poor persecuted people and not the criminals that they really are. We need to mandate that in every state of the union, ENGLISH and not spanish be the language in every form be it print, radio, telecommunications, signs, tv, of government and private business forms. You come here legally, learn ENGLISH. Don't try to make this country bow to you. You are the newbee you are the one who needs to adapt to this nation andnot the other way around.

Any legislation dealing with this serious illegal immigration issue has to make the points in your post first and foremost. I am not a fan of Theodore Roosevelt, but he dealt with the threat to our language, our flag and our allegiance in his 1907 speech. You can Google or Yahoo search it. This speech needs to be read on the floor of the house over and over again until it finally sinks in to those swiss cheese brains we elect.

What really anoys me is that English channels are required to broadcast in SAP for Spanish viewers,

but not one Spanish channel will broadcast SAP in English for English speakers.

Maybe when I watch: TV > Sabado Gigante , I also like to know what they are saying.
