To Congress: Border Security Is Still Far Away
Dear Senator XXXXXXXX.
The Obama Administration knows that the American people expect to have our borders secured before any discussion of "immigration reform" can begin. This is a nearly universal expectation of the American public. Pres Obama has stated as much, repeatedly:
(from May 2009)
"If the American people don't feel like you can secure the borders," Mr. Obama said at his press conference last week, "then it's hard to strike a deal that would get people out of the shadows and on a pathway to citizenship who are already here, because the attitude of the average American is going to be, 'Well, you're just going to have hundreds of thousands of more coming in each year.' "
But the reality is that efforts to secure our borders have been met with glitches, setbacks and numerous malfunctions. In short, our border controls are inoperable. From FederalNewsRadio.com
DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano has issued the following declaration of the operability of the SBINet electronic surveillance fence:
[b]“SBInet, a contract and a concept that was entered into years ago, has been plagued with troubles from day one,â€"Men of low degree are vanity, Men of high degree are a lie. " David

Great letter! And remember that Boeing is one of the major contractors of this equipment, and their folks have done an abysmal job of delivering.
