While it's too bad that Sununu and Dole lost, there are good GOP Senate incumbents who cruised (or survived) to reelection (in this tough year for Republicans) who have good grades from Numbers: Sessions, Chambliss, Inhofe, Roberts, Enzi, Alexander, Barrasso, Cornyn and even McConnell.

Latest House and Senate Results
Despite an otherwise grim night for Senate Republicans, it appears the three members of leadership up for re-election — Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), Republican Conference Chairman Lamar Alexander (Tenn.) and Conference Vice Chairman John Cornyn (Texas) — will win re-election this evening.
Cornyn and Alexander were widely expected to win easily, but McConnell, facing a strong anti-incumbent sentiment in Kentucky, had been in a close race with Democratic businessman Bruce Lunsford.
Nevertheless, McConnell by mid-evening had been declared the winner, which also brought Republicans one step closer to thwarting Democrats’ hopes of a 60-vote majority.

Dick Morris: No 60-Seat Democratic Senate
Veteran political analyst Dick Morris tells Newsmax he doubts that the Democrats will achieve the filibuster-proof 60-vote majority they had hoped for.
Asked by Newsmax’s Ashley Martella how significant the losses of Sen. Elizabeth Dole in North Carolina and Sen. John Sununu in New Hampshire will be to the Republican Party, Morris responded:
“You have three seats now that the Democrats have picked up — New Mexico, North Carolina and New Hampshire.
“But you have three seats that were contested that Republicans won: Collins in Maine, McConnell in Kentucky, Roberts in Kansas.
“So at this point my guess would be, just projecting out, that you will obviously have a Democratic gain in the Senate. They also picked up Virginia. But I do believe it’s not going to be a 60-vote Senate. I think it will be a 56- to 58-vote Senate.
“That of course means you are going to have a strong Democratic majority and Republicans will have a hard time mounting a filibuster, but you can’t actually count it out.
“I think the Democratic gains in the Senate are less than their optimists had predicted.â€Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
