Conservative primary challenger Jim Duncan is charging fundraising numbers prove that Rep. Renee Ellmers (R-NC)
is “the ultimate Washington, D.C. insider, completely out-of-touch with her North Carolina constituents.”

In a press release, Duncan announced his campaign to win Ellmers’ seat has raised more than $73,000, with the majority of his contributions coming from North Carolina individuals. Duncan argues that Ellmers’ relies on money from D.C. and 83-percent of her donations came from out-of-state PACs. He alleges only 5.7 percent of her campaign money came from individuals in North Carolina.

“Rep. Renee Ellmers is out-of-touch with the hardworking people of North Carolina,” Duncan stated in his press release.

After five years of Rep. Ellmers’ liberal voting record, North Carolinians are refusing to support her candidacy. North Carolinians deserve a representative that shares their conservative believes and listens to the will of the people. It is abundantly clear that voters in North Carolina’s second congressional district do not think Rep. Ellmers fits the bill.

Ellmers recently made media headlines when Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) withdrew from running for Speaker of the House to replace outgoing Rep. John Boehner (R-OH) because of rumors of an alleged affair between her and McCarthy. Both sides deny the rumors.“As someone who has been targeted by completely false accusations and innuendo, I have been moved by the outpouring of support and prayers from my colleagues, constituents and friends,” Ellmers stated earlier this month, responding to reports of the rumored affair.

Duncan is chairman of the Chatham County Republican Party and a retired businessman.Roll Call earlier described him as a more “serious challenger” to Ellmers that she had in the past.

Her support for illegal immigrant amnesty hurt her during her last reelection bid ........ hopefully this time it'll finish her for good! It is my belief Frank Roche will take her down this time around.
