Does anyone have a list??
Thanks

Senate FenceSitters
Badmonkey, I am in daily contact with Senator's aids in Washington and it is very difficult to get the aids to tell the position of their Senators. They say, "Oh, I don't know his position on that. He hasn't come out with a statement yet."
Please read my post RED ALERT - PHONE IN
If you will look up some of my previous posts, you will find the information I have been posting about Senators on a daily basis as well as my suggestions of who to concentrate our calls to (i.e. people who could possible be persuaded yet to introduce an Enforcement Only bill into the Senate).
the fact that they are reluctant to state their position gives me the idea (HOPE?) that we have a chance to persuade some of them if we start calling and KEEP it up until the vote comes up.
I will prepare a post with ALL that I know, and maybe people who live in those states can add their info about each Senator.http://www.soldiersangels.com Adopt a Soldier

I would state that if the aids" dont know" what posision he WILL take, hes pro-biz. That they play dumb is not a good sign... obviously they have voting records....someone did post a good ****** star rating system, that should be a sticky...I cant find it now..

Probably right
I would state that if the aids" dont know" what posision he WILL take, hes pro-biz.
You are probably right about that Badmonkey. If so, that is pretty scary.
William, would it be helpful to make stickies of the posts that have given information about Senators. Tim Binh, Political Activist and Steve have posted lots of helpful lists. It would be a timesave to me to have them right there on top. Thanks, Sylviahttp://www.soldiersangels.com Adopt a Soldier

Yup, before the CAFTA vote I kept calling my reps...asking the aides what the position was...they hadn't made up their minds..blarney...they'd well and truly made up their minds and every singlesolitarysob of them voted FOR CAFTA.
Don't know...is merely a dodge.

I was afraid of that!

I will go through my conversation notes and let you know what each Senator's office said.http://www.soldiersangels.com Adopt a Soldier

Preliminary Report
Just touching base to give you preliminary resilts of this weeks calling.
Definitely Will Not Support a Guestworker program
Jeff Sessions-AL - Aid says Senator will not accept any guestworker program for illegals already here in the country.
Saxby Chamblis-GA - Aid says Senator is against guestworker programs. (this is what the aid said, in spite of the fact that the Senator is the sponsor of agricultural bill S2087)
John Ensign-NV - Aid says the Senator thinks illegals should NOT be rewarded.
Orin Hatch-UT - On one call, the aid seemed anxious to say Senator is AGAINST amnesty and will not support a guestworker program. On another call, a different aid told me the Senator might support a guestworker program if it does not abuse the system.
DEFINITE MAYBES
Charles Grassley-IA - Aid was anxious to say the Senator was NOT for amnesty but willnot comment on the guestworker program.
I'm getting so many "don't know" answers that it is maddening. Some would say they were connecting me to the aid who handles that issue, but invaraibly I was sent to a message machine.
I have felt STONEWALLED this week on my calling, more so than last week.
I have looked up all of the immigration bills presently before the Senate.
Sen Dominici's aid told me that his Senator had just introduced a bill to tighten the borders. But when I looked for it, the border security bill was submitted last November, 2005 (bill S.2049) and what he actually just introduced 1/31/06 was an energy and education bill to assure the US would be competative in the 21st century(S.2196, 2197, 219
I will have more later, after I study the various bills. I was wrong in thinking there were no Senate bills that could support an enforcement only position. They are there and only need to be put together into one packeage.http://www.soldiersangels.com Adopt a Soldier
