Isn't it wonderful that the Democratic Party is pandering to the Latino population?

The Democratic Party is leaving it up to the Republicans to solve the problem of illegal immigration.

Many states surrounding Illinois are cracking down on illegal immigrants and are cutting off social services and jobs. Since Illinois is a sanctuary state and the Democratic Party is willing to provide billions in social services, these illegals are flooding into Illinois as Rod Blagojevich, Richie Daley and Barack Obama wave them in.

The Latino population in Chicago and the six collar counties is about three million. I see six million Latinos in five years and 10 million in 10 years. Guess what? Your Democratic vote won't count anymore.

well obama told edwards to seek the white male vote with a laugh in last nights debate and edwards scoffed at the idea cause he knew anyvoting for a democrat is too dumb to fill card out right when voting

this is where the Independants are going to abandon the Democrate en-mass.

I think people are catching on to this notion. I see plenty of comments on Topix where people are mentioning pandering and Democrats in the same sentence.

God help us if they don't.

YES, Democrats will sell us out for votes. Yes, they are willing to allow amnesty and turn the country upside down. Yes, they are shameless.

It's so stupid - if our so-called Republican "front runner" was saavy enough, he could use this issue to win the election -- instead he is also a panderer.

Democrats want votes, and they don't seem to care if they are legal or illegal votes!

This coming election will be the most crooked one yet.

They want these votes also, to destroy the Republican Party....and it will happen if we don't put a stop to these open borders groups and Dems that pander to them.

They will sell their Mom to get a vote........I worry, the Country is going nuts over Obama!

I think it is strange how ultra-libs are so zealous that they don't even see the big picture.

OK, take two topics, feminism and ecology. (I am a supporter of both, by the way.) Both issues are grasped tightly by the left wing. Women's rights in the workplace, spotted owl protection, etc.

BUT THEN, this SAME group, moves to saturate the country with backwards-thinking peasants who come from a culture of machismo and male domination, and participate on a large scale in sheer, rampant, pollution of land and sea.

So thanks alot, democrats. You just set yourself back in these two
subjects by a good several decades.

Actually you weren't dramatic enough, they pour used motor oil into storm drains and it ends up in the ocean. It is now raining hard in CA and you should see the oil slick coming out of our "rivers" (now concrete storm drains) into the ocean.

There are some (emphasis on SOME) voices on the Left who are against illegal immigration. Particularly among the environmentalists, who want zero/negative population growth. IMO, they should be courted for their stand on THIS issue, and not berated for their other views.

Let's face it, if the GOP didn't have the McCains and the Hagels and the Bushes and the Reagans, ALIPAC wouldn't be needed. And give credit to the Byron Dorgans and the Evan Bayhs who showed real courage is standing up to their Party's establishment.

Thom Hartmann is a radio host on Air America. He comes out firmly against illegal immigration in his book Screwed. He's had Lou Dobbs, Pat Buchanan, and Tom Tancredo on his show. When Tom Tancredo pointed out that there are racists on the pro-amnesty side of the debate, Hartmann agreed.

There is/was another guy on local Air America in Los Angeles, KTLK am1150, named Mark Germain, aka Mr. K, formerly known as Mr. KFI and Mr. KABC for many years. He regularly spoke out against illegal immigration (whenever the issue came up), saying things like "We can't afford all this cheap labor." The station even had a promotional spot with his chastising that "The Democratic Party cannot go on being the party of illegal immigration." Well, Mr. K is no longer on the air as of January 1. Probably because he never prefaced his remarks with obligatory statements how a lot of racists are anti-illegal immigration, unlike Hartmann (to Mr. K's credit, and to Hartmann's fault.)

BTW, Hartmann also cited in Screwed that AMC movie theaters are very proactive in making sure they don't hire illegal aliens. I think this book is a year old now, so maybe other chains have followed suit. But I've been going to the movies at AMC ever since.
