Overall I do believe he wants to keep his promises because he cares very much what people think about him. It's no secret that he is a narcissist. Listening to his interviews and rallies is proof of that. Honestly, I have no problem with his ego and bragging as long as he keeps his eye on the ball. That also means doing everything he can to keep his promises. Some of those promises aren't completely under his control, but some, like DACA for example, are. Someone, some group, or both, obviously influenced him to back down on his DACA promise. Somehow he was convinced that keeping that promise would not be in his best interest.

Unfortunately, I think Trump's self-admiration is what makes him a little more susceptible to influence and pressure than what we would like. In other words, should he get the feeling he's losing support, I think he can be easily influenced to change course.

With all of that being said, it is my sense that we must keep enough pressure on him to prevent our enemies from winning his ear. Just my opinion ......

IMO - Part of the daca continuance could be to hold down hostility while the criminals are being routed out first & other procedures put in place. Kelly's words, are troubling though "no problems for dacas as long as I'm in this post" "the least of his problems" probably so, their info is listed as long as they don't go underground.

On Trump's daca campaign promises, groups such as Alipac & others must communicate the need for answers, what the future holds & the message being sent to illegals. Bear in mind, some plans are best paced out w/o fanfare, (I hope that is part of this admins plan), otherwise these pro illegals groups just go crazy, non stop & have more time to prepare their assaults.

But comments on his broken campaign promises must be in his face and in the press, pushing for a statement as to why he is not fulfilling that promise will alert him to public outcry other than the constant chatter from pro illegal groups. Ongoing communications are needed to be able to confront the administration though & expect answers from it; same with environmental groups that have a load of grievances (they are better off leaving a door open to communicate their positions). Cut communications and you can't have an input other than law suits or any media coverage you can get.

It does send the wrong message of not to worry to the other illegals, (but e-verify will get them) especially those with anchor babies which is all of them. If their citizen status is not eliminated they will one day have the right to bring their entire family. So just about all deported or leaving due to e-verify mandate WILL BE BACK LEGALLY thru their anchor babies.

If the mandate for e-verify becomes a reality, many millions will be forced to self deport for now. Also there are many criminals that just have not been caught or on record with law enforcement but they will get caught up in an e-verify mandate. Talk of the social services cuts unless legally in the country will have an impact too. But once again the anchor babies right now have a right to social services but can't see them staying if the parents have to return to their country but can come back with them later. Citizenship status will entitle them to return.

To me, the best road for all of us is to be strong, patient and clear.

Last first, we must be clear that we will not tolerate any legalization of any illegal aliens, DACA, or otherwise and we must insist that on the earliest most prudent date, the DACA program is quietly ended.

We must be patient as well, because the factions and forces working against US and our dear President Trump include the Court System, even though the Court System was designed and funded to protect the national law, national constitution and national interests of US citizens, we know the Court System has largely failed our citizens on many issues across numerous fronts through the many years of our history, especially in the area of migration, importation of labor and slavery. Thus, we do not want to tangle with that outfit which today is comprised largely of loons. There's an ole saying, "it's best to leave stupid to deal with itself." (Well, actually, that's mine, but it fits the situation.)

Finally, we must be strong, stand up, speak out, but do it from a position of strength, not weakness. We do not want to give the impression that we are victims of uncertainty or potentially broken promises, because we are not. We are the happy and proud victors of an election the outcome of which will end illegal immigration into the United States once and for all.

Rome wasn't built in a day and it still takes 4 quarters to win a Super Bowl, sometimes with an over-time. We've just barely passed the coin toss to start the first quarter.

In formally notifying re the withdrawal of backing by his voters for the DELAY in not removing daca immediately as promised, interject all the other things that could be DONE or AT LEAST initiated NOW that are integral to restoring/enhancing our laws re immigration that would protect our safety, health, jobs too; for one, anchor babies status requiring a citizen parent, no federal freebies for illegals, e-verify etc. A Turkish judge in this country on business, stated the refugees they are accommodating in Turkey, do not receive schooling for the children. (Harsh but they obviously do not want them hanging around.)

There are many issues in this immigration problem that we American citizens need his ear & HEART for; keep communication lines with the President open. Put a little shame in his heart and he just might work harder of some of the other issues & get to daca later on. The central american influx has to stop and they need to be returned to their countries. They will breed as the mexicans have done for the anchor babies and they are so inbred/violent; it is an abomination to have them placed everywhere @ us. Get them out NOW!

An article in the National Review 3/10, which I won't post because the nameless "editors" are promoting a trade off of permanent residency for dacas - totally unacceptable and asinine. A short DELAY could possibly be tolerable IF other things are accomplished ASAP.
Republicans should offer legislation granting legal permanent residency to DACA-eligible aliens in exchange for congressional approval of the RAISE Act and nationwide E-Verify.
The article also states the daca number is 2million.
President Obama’s DACA, issued in 2012 via memorandum, was a patently lawless use of executive power. After Congress (again) decided not to pass the DREAM Act, granting legal status to illegal immigrants who came here as children, the president abused his “pen and phone” to impose the law’s provisions unilaterally. The administration risibly claimed that this was an exercise of “prosecutorial discretion,” implying that the government would be evaluating applications for deferred status on a case-by-case basis. Unsurprisingly, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officials have reported otherwise; in fact, anyone who appears to be under the maximum deferral age — that is, any illegal immigrant who appears younger than 35 years old — is simply presumed to be eligible for DACA. Under the policy, about 750,000 illegal aliens have been granted not only renewable, two-year deportation stays, but also work permits, Social Security numbers, access to the EITC welfare program, and driver’s licenses. Functionally, more than 2 million have been shielded from deportation for nearly five years.

Maybe he made keeping DACA a condition of accepting Trump's nomination (just speculation).

You might be right MW, I think this question needs to be asked and answered by the Administration.

I oppose DACA on any level for any reason. This has to be ended and all of them deported. Period. Illegal immigration no matter the age, the sob story, who brought them, when or under what circumstance has nothing to do with deportation. It's just part of the sometimes sad consequences of illegal immigration, just like children of any lawbreaker who pay the price for what their parents have done. When someone is incarcerated they can't provide for their family. Their children suffer. No one cares about that. All these Americans in jail for non-violent drug offenses, using dope or selling it, their families suffer, no one cares about them. They lose their homes, have to go on welfare, live in terrible neighborhoods, are afraid and poor, and miss their parent. No difference. No one is writing sob stories for them.

So stop with the concern about the children of illegal aliens "brought here by their parents". It's not a valid argument, it's not a sound defense, it's as irrelevant as what happens to the families of all lawbreakers. If your family was a defense, there would never be a law enforced. All criminals have family somewhere.

And all the criminals and their families who have broken US immigration law must be deported, no matter the age or their circumstance, whether they're "good", "incredible" or "bad ones" and rotten to the core. Lady Justice is blind for a reason.
