And I added the additional facts that he supported, promoted and voted for TPA and then voted against it when it came back from the House with an Amendment for TAA, Trade Adjustment Act, funding to assist American Workers laid-off by the TPP.

This is important for the "verdict" on Cruz and TPA. When it doesn't have any funding to assist American Workers laid-off by the trade pact, he's all in 100%. Supports it, promotes it, writes an article supporting it for the Wall Street Journal, goes on a media blitz with Paul Ryan promoting and selling its virtues. But when the bill comes back from the House with a provision to help workers laid-off by the trade deals, he votes against the worker assistance amendment, but the amendment passes anyway, and then he votes against the TPA, but the TPA passes anyway. Then he tells the Press he voted against the TPA because of immigration concerns and sovereignty. There were no changes to immigration or sovereignty issues or matters in the bill he voted for before it went the House and the bill he voted against when it came back to the Senate from the House. The only change to the bill was the funds to assist workers laid-off by the TPP.

So either Cruz is very stupid and didn't understand the bill he supported, promoted, wrote about, and media blitzed to garner public support for and VOTED FOR ... OR he lied to the public about the reasons he voted against it when it came back from the House claiming "immigration and sovereignty issues" because he didn't want the public to know that the real reason he voted against it was the TAA Amendment that funds re-training assistance for American Workers laid-off by the TPP.

I think that's important for anyone wanting to know where Ted Cruz stands on TPA to know. All facts, votes of record in the US Senate already posted here on ALIPAC months ago.

The TAA argument is a red herring because it had nothing to do with his vote against the TPA.

The TAA was an amendment to the TPA bill when it came back to the Senate from the House. Cruz voted against the TAA amendment, but when it passed anyway adding TAA to the TPA for TPP, then he voted against the TPA. That was the only difference between the TPA bill he voted for and the TPA bill he voted against.

But if you want to take the position that Cruz is stupid and supported, promoted and voted for a trade deal he didn't know impacted immigration into and the sovereignty of the United States, then that's certainly fine with me.

Like I said earlier, it's either one or the other or of course both, which is more likely the case. He's not only flawed in his understanding of his job as a US Senator, but also doesn't care about American Workers who lose their jobs through his flaws.

Sessions recently released a short questionnaire for Republican candidates that consists of five straightforward questions that touch on the topics of trade, immigration and crime. Thus far, Donald Trump is the only candidate to answer Sessions questions. Sessions said that Trump– who opposes the TPP and has pledged to enforce the nation’s immigration laws– “answered to my satisfaction.”

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) – who previously voted to fast-track TPP before reversing his vote, and who previously argued for expanding the controversial H-1B program before he reversed his position on that as well– has yet to fill out Sessions test.
