Donald Trumpís Approval Rating Hits 50 Percent In Rasmussen Poll

Donald Trumpís approval rating may be on the rise.

According to the results of the latest poll from Rasmussen Reports, 50 percent of voters approve of the presidentís performance in office so far. This is the first time his approval rating has been this high in weeks.

Itís worth noting that the results of the Rasmussen poll have differed vastly from other polls, including Gallup and Reuters, which currently have Trumpís approval rating between 41 and 44 percent.

The lowest it has ever been in the Rasmussen poll is 42 percent.

The same poll ó which surveyed an estimated 1500 voters ó also found that 37 percent of voters think the military should use force on North Korea to prevent the country from expanding its nuclear arsenal.

In early April, the military launched 59 cruise missiles at a Syrian military airfield after a chemical attack in the country left at least 80 people dead. Then this week the U.S. military dropped the ďmother of all bombsĒ ó the biggest non-nuclear weapon ó on an ISIS cave complex in Afghanistan.

    Daily Presidential Tracking Poll

    n Politics
    Monday, April 17, 2017

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday shows that 50% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Fifty percent (50%) disapprove.

This is the first time the president’s overall approval rating has been back in the 50s in nearly a month. Just after his inauguration, Trump’s job approval peaked at 59% and remained in the 50s every day until early March. It’s gone as low as 42% since then.

The latest figures for Trump include 30% who Strongly Approve of the way Trump is performing and 39% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -9. (see trends).

Some readers wonder how we come up with our job approval ratings for the president since they often don’t show as dramatic a change as some other pollsters do. It depends on how you ask the question and whom you ask.

To get a sense of longer-term job approval trends for the president, Rasmussen Reports compiles our tracking data on a full month-by-month basis.

Rasmussen Reports has been a pioneer in the use of automated telephone polling techniques, but many other firms still utilize their own operator-assisted technology (see methodology).

Daily tracking results are collected via telephone surveys of 500 likely voters per night and reported on a three-day rolling average basis. To reach those who have abandoned traditional landline telephones, Rasmussen Reports uses an online survey tool to interview randomly selected participants from a demographically diverse panel. The margin of sampling error for the full sample of 1,500 Likely Voters is +/- 2.5 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Results are also compiled on a full-week basis and crosstabs for full-week results are available for Platinum Members.

Back in March before the health care fiasco, he was at 59% and fell to 42% after the health care vote was pulled. He's working his way back up, but that really was a shame, cost this administration a great deal of momentum and cost the American people a lot of jobs and money. I hope the Freedom Caucus can keep in mind the total consequences of some of their actions and inaction.
