Conservative activist Erick Erickson, organizer of RedState Gathering, says mogul went ‘too far’ in discussing Fox News moderator’s tough questioning

Donald Trump has been officially banned from one of the biggest gatherings of conservative activists after implying he received hostile questioning during the first Republican presidential debate because the television moderator was menstruating.

Trump was uninvited from the RedState Gathering late on Friday after saying in a CNN interview that Fox News’s Megyn Kelly “had blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever”, while questioning him during Thursday night’s debate.

Erick Erickson, the organizer of the event and a major conservative activist tweeted late on Friday night, “I have rescinded my invitation to Mr. Trump. While I have tried to give him great latitude, his remark about Megyn Kelly was a bridge too far.”

In a follow-up blog post, Erickson amplified why he was disinviting Trump: “there are even lines blunt talkers and unprofessional politicians should not cross,” he wrote. “Decency is one of those lines.”

Message to Donald Trump. Donald, you need to remember something. There are more women in the United States than men, more registered women voters in the United States than men, and more women who actually vote than men in the United States. This means very simply that if you want to win the Republican nomination and move forward to win the General Election, you must address issues and offer solutions that not only solve issues for all Americans, but also solve issues that are unique to women. These issues are minimum wages which impact more women than men, women's rights with regard to their own bodies, equal pay for equal work, along with the other issues that plague all our citizens such as illegal immigration, excess legal immigration, free trade treason and the massive failure we call the "income tax" that penalizes our citizens, rewards illegal aliens, discourages investment in the US and runs our good employers, investment, money supply and technology out of the country which is why I support the FairTax and wish you would as well.

That said, RedState is totally off base to have disinvited Trump because he said Megyn Kelly had blood coming out of her eyes or wherever. For anyone to think he meant something else is a sexist response to his statement and not at all a fault of his.

Shame on Erickson and everyone else involved in the "conservative gathering". From the beginning of the debate before the candidates were even on the stage, Megyn Kelly was acting and speaking so badly when she was off script, I thought she was drunk. She improved a little when she got on script once the debate started, but earlier when she was off script, she was terrible.

The specific statement that Trump used is a common one in our language. It refers to capillary response to anger and stress from capillaries bleeding in the eyes, nose and ears. It had nothing to do with anything else, and only sexist men would think otherwise.

Definitely a big mistake. And I see Carly Fiorina and Lindsey Graham are standing with Megyn Kelly.

The problem the media and some of the GOP leaders are having with Donald Trump is they fear they can't control what he says which means they can't control what he will do. This seems to disturb them tremendously. To me, that's a good thing for citizens of the US and we voters who should be the ones who select our leaders, not the media nor party leaders. For too long now, many of us have felt that regardless of which party wins the General Election, the outcome is the same. I believe Donald Trump threatens that status quo which really worries all these globalist traitors selling out our country faster than we can count the ways because they fear, rightly or wrongly, that Trump will end their stranglehold on our nation and citizens.

I don't know for sure what Trump will do as President, but I am convinced at this point that he will do something good for our country that benefits all American citizens, which is more than I can say for the past several Presidents of the United States, regardless of their party affiliation.
