Donald Trump's bizarre war on women

Donald Trump's bizarre war on women

(CNN)In a matter of 48 hours last week, the national conversation went from a War on Terror to the War on Women thanks to another late-night Trump Twitter tirade. Donald Trump just can't seem to help himself. Or can he?
At the time of Trump's now infamous tweet threatening to "spill the beans" on rival Ted Cruz's wife in response to an anti-Trump super PAC's use of a Melania Trump modeling photo in a political ad, the world was reeling from the latest ISIS terrorist attack in Brussels.

It was also particularly bad timing considering that a day earlier, Trump failed to allay growing criticism of his lack of foreign policy knowledge with a mediocre speech to pro-Israel group AIPAC, raised eyebrows when he wouldn't rule out the use of nuclear weapons to fight ISIS and suggested the United States pull back its role in NATO during a bizarre Washington Post editorial board meeting.

Not only is Belgium a member of NATO, its headquarters are in Brussels. Whoops.

Something else was happening that Tuesday evening.

It was becoming clear that Donald Trump was going to suffer a crushing defeat at the hands of Sen. Cruz in the Utah caucuses -- and he did, 69% to 14%. Although Trump handily won Arizona, he has failed to get over 50% in any state thus far. Cruz has done it twice and is the only candidate to beat Trump in multiple contests.

For someone whose entire campaign is predicated on "winning," losing that badly in Utah probably didn't go over very well in Trump World. And so, the Twitter war began. Some say Trump was simply defending his wife since spouses are supposed to be off limits in elections. Perhaps.

That didn't stop Trump from going after Jeb Bush's wife last summer when he retweeted "#JebBush has to like Mexican illegals because of his wife." When confronted by Jeb Bush during a debate and given the chance to apologize, Trump refused.

Why was it really necessary for Trump to directly attack his opponent's wife first by threatening to embarrass her and then retweeting an unflattering picture of her next to an appealing picture of his wife?

Trump's reaction to the Melania photo was more about feigned outrage designed to distract than some noble act of chivalry as some Trump surrogates have tried to claim. It's more about bullying and demeaning women because that's Trump's modus operandi. An honorable man doesn't need to objectify another man's wife to effectively defend his own.

Attacking Heidi Cruz's appearance was a direct assault against all women and young girls who are often harshly and unfairly judged by their looks. What kind of message does that send coming from a presidential front-runner?

Trump has a history of throwing temper tantrums and insulting women. From calling women disgusting, fat pigs, and bimbos to remarks about dropping to their knees and having a nice piece of a** on his arm, the litany of offensive comments is well-documented.

To put it mildly, Trump has a women problem. He may be attracting some Republican women voters, but according to the latest CNN poll, taken before the spat with Cruz over his wife, 73% of registered female voters in the United States had an unfavorable view of Trump.

Those results are consistent with a Reuters poll that found more than half of the women in this country hold a "very unfavorable" view of him. That's a steep hill to climb for Trump in a general election if he ends up the GOP nominee against Hillary Clinton.

After his big wins on March 15, political observers said it would behoove Trump to pivot toward becoming more presidential and unifying the party. His surrogates and media acolytes were pushing the narrative that it was time to coalesce behind Trump -- to "fall in line," despite the fact we are still months from the convention, several key states have not voted and Trump has yet to win the majority of delegates to clinch the GOP nomination.

    Not so fast.

Whether Trump's latest antics were calculated or just impulse, it demonstrates once again that he does not have the temperament, judgment or common decency to be President of the United States.

Hey, Mad Woman Tara, there is no war on women by Trump or his campaign or supporters. What is wrong with you? Are you insane or insanely biased? Either way, you need to stop this crap, all of you. Donald Trump is the most egalitarian candidate in the race. He's the only one who really cares about anyone, let alone everybody. Donald Trump supports men, women, blacks, Hispanics, asians, Latinos, young, old, middle-aged, he supports Veterans, he supports everyone. He has no war on anyone except the traitors selling out our people and selling off our country.

Trump is right about Jeb Bush and the Mexicans and open borders. There's no other reason he would support millions of illegal aliens roaming our land than because most of the are from Mexico and his wife is from Mexico. They met in Mexico when he was down there going to college. There was nothing wrong with Trump's statement and Bush didn't deny it. It's either that reason or he's on the take with the drug cartels. Take your pick.

Telling Cruz to stop the nonsense against Melania or two can play that game is perfectly fair. Trump didn't attack Heidi. Showing a first lady in a grimace or on a bad hair day is not an attack. And if she and other women can't get used to that happening in politics, well, you're not cut out for campaign let alone moving into the White House. The side by side of Heidi in a grimace and Melania all perfect was not an attack, it was funny. It was also prepared by a Trump Supporter in response to the ad against Melania. Trump liked it and retweeted it. That is his absolute right to do so. Fair is fair. What's good for the goose is good for the gander or don't you know that?

What is wrong with you? You're a Mad Woman. A one-sided biased Hate Trumper. For you a black woman, to make hay over something like this as a War on Women? You're insane. A War on Women is messing with reproductive rights, forcing pregnant girls and women into childbirth through force of law against their will. A War on Women is beating them to death, raping them and domestic violence. A War on Women is cheating them, giving their jobs away to illegal aliens and excess immigrants, cutting their hours to avoid Obama Care, forcing title of a home in the name of the male spouse and required co-signing of loans, allowing continued discrimination in the work place, lower wages for the same job, and on and on and on.

Either you've not been in the world, lucky you, or when you left it you forgot it. You and other women like you are demeaning women's rights by attacking Trump who is trying to advance them by bringing back the good jobs so women can find good-paying jobs with full 40 hour work weeks and company benefits or high enough wages to purchase them on their own. You and other women like you don't get it, you don't get Trump because you've insulated yourselves from the problems he is winning this race to solve. You've become an Elite in your mind so that your life is so dull and boring that a one sentence tweet and 1 line retweet occupy your life as some "excitement" to make hay over. The problem with our mainstream media and the people they hire or contract with to speak on their programs is: you all are IGNORANT. You want to prattle on about women's rights, so long as they're your rights, you want equality oh yes, if it means you get a raise or promotion, and respect so long as it's all about you.

Trump isn't about you. You're fine. You don't need any help. You're on the news, your voice gets heard, your needs are met, you're sailing through life. You don't need Trump.

Trump is about the majority of Americans who aren't fine, who aren't sailing through life, who aren't on the news, who don't get a cushey job with Goldman-Sachs that loans her money to give to her loser husband to run for the Senate or who married into the Bush Dynasty.

Trump is about the 30 million black Americans many of them trapped in poverty who can't find a job of any kind anywhere they can get to. Trump is about the 75 million people on Medicaid with total net worths of less than $2,500 because they can't find a job, they can't get 40 hours at a job, or the wages of their job are too low. Most of those 75 million people are women and children since few men are eligible even ones nearly starving to death.

When Trump made the comment about Megyn Kelly he was not talking about the nastiness of her period, he was talking about her being mad and blood coming out of her eyes, nose and ears, referring to anger and how it makes your head explode. Only nasty women and perverted men would have thought he was referring to anything else. But every day since, we listen to you over-elevated imbeciles prattle on about "menustration", when Trump never said it and the last thing this guy in particular would ever even think about is some strange woman's period, after all he is germaphob, a clean freak,e and doesn't like or think about nasty things.

When Trump made the comment about Carly's face, he was on his own airplane in private eating Red Velvet Cake at the end of a hard day and watching the news. Carly is on there making a statement her face all pouted up in that sour puss look and Trump being involved in show business and beauty pageants says to a reporter traveling with him to write an article for Mother Jones, "look at that face, no one is going to vote for that". It was an off the cuff private comment, and he was right. No one did vote for the sour puss, or too few to mention. The reporter had no intention or plan of including it in his article, but he was recording it I guess and his BOSS made him include it. So Mother Jones should be blamed for that, they're the ones who printed it to try to embarrass and insult Carly. The media then jumps on it and calls her ugly which Trump never said at all.

Women like you and Megyn Kelly are actually evil, because you lie, you fabricate, you misinterpret on purpose, you have no ethics in your reporting or comments.

Women like you keep other women down because you try to keep down and out of power people willing and capable of helping them, people like Donald Trump. There's not been another Donald Trump in our lifetime, a man who treats women the same way he treats men, a true egalitarian, a true citizen who truly respects women because he respects their equality. He doesn't pander to anyone. He's for everybody. He's our Everyman. Do you even know what that means?

And Tara, if you really want to be somebody, get a wiki link so people can look up your background, education, personal history, politics, and so forth. You know like all the important people have. Oh, and you could cut out some sweets, you need to losea few, if you get my drift. If you're going to be on TV, you need to look your best.

This needed to be said and you are absolutely right. It doesn't effect these women with their jobs that are complaining the most. But still they complain and try to stir up trouble where there is none. Being a women I am not offended by what Trump says.

Thank you posylady! We really need to press this point and spread the word, because Trump is being mislabeled and the other women need to know. If you weren't following the facts as closely as we do, you could easily get the wrong impression listening to these Elitist Women on television fabricating a problem where as you say, there is none, absolutely none, nada, zero, zip.

The entire War on Women narrative is, in my opinion, nothing but a leftist talking point. The real war on women is being perpetrated every day by Islamist all over the world, something that the these same writers and commentators are too gutless to discuss. JMO
