IMO, Eliseo Medina is engaged in illegal lobbying activity since he meets with Mexican government officials and also lobbies the US Congress. I have raised this issue with the Senate minority counsel...but perhaps people need to be more persistent. There has just been a recent complaint to the DC US attorney about Medina's colleagues in the SEIU, Stern and Burger, about their lobbying activities in DC. I guess the problem with a case like this is that the volume of evidence needed may be hard to gather.

An SEIU article about Medina in Mexico recently is here:

In Mexico, SEIU's Eliseo Medina Calls for Cross-Border Solutions to Fix Broken Immigration System
    By Kate Thomas

This week, SEIU Executive VP Eliseo Medina is in Mexico City meeting with key legislators and labor leaders on the importance of working together to improve labor rights and economic opportunities for workers on both sides of the border. "In order to build an immigration system that puts an end to the senseless suffering of so many families on both sides of the border, labor, social and political organizations in both countries must work together to build comprehensive reforms that are just and humane," Medina remarked to El Universal during a press conference with key reporters in Mexico City.

    The federal law is here:

    18 U.S.C. § 951
§ 951. Agents of foreign governments

    (a) Whoever, other than a diplomatic or consular officer or attache, acts in the United States as an agent of a foreign government without prior notification to the Attorney General if required in subsection (b), shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both.

    (d) For purposes of this section, the term "agent of a foreign government" means an individual who agrees to operate within the United States subject to the direction or control of a foreign government or official,

If we did need more people I think Mexicans should be down the list of who to let in, what with their Reconquista and continued allegiance to Mexico instead of the USA.

I have seen a lot of cool ideas....aside from allowing the border police to shoot on site... No really...I was thinking math.

Figure out the population of each country and divide a percentage of visas for work. So 100,000 @ .05=500.

Then do a rotation from each country so every country gets an equal chance till it hits there quota. Go alphabetical round and round with each "requested" worker visa.

No one should come in until a company work requests it. That way each person would have work or job before the visa was issued. It would be fair and shut the Mexicans up that think they all should live here.

Am I making any sense...? I mean, truth of the matter, if we want to stop American job loss than we need to stop people coming in that don't have a job taking them away. Other countries require a bank account with X dollars and career education to stay more than a week. To move permanently...big deal and lots of paperwork.

I mean they are talking amnesty for GANG MEMBERS!! Check this out...this is what we want?
