    English Only Update

    Senate Victory

    Dear Defender of English,

A victory! Yesterday the Senate passed the Alexander amendment, No. 4222, to the Senate budget resolution by a vote of 54-44.

The budget resolution amendment recommends removing $670,000 from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) budget – money the agency plans to spend filing lawsuits against other employers like the Salvation Army that have English-on-the-job rules, and using the money to teach English instead.

Although budget resolutions are for guidance and not strictly binding on future appropriations, the vote is an important victory nevertheless. It shows that a majority of the Senate think the EEOC is abusing its authority by filing these lawsuits and prepares the way for binding budget votes in the future. Thank you to everyone who called their senators to support the amendment!

Below is the roll call vote. If your senator voted yes, please call them and thank them for their vote in favor of Senator Lamar Alexander’s budget resolution amendment on the EEOC (No. 4222). Thank you!

We need to ask both Senators, Clinton and Obama, what country do they live in, one without a language, the International Shopping Mall and Labor Mart of the American Continent?, the United Tower of Babel, the United Nations of Kumbaya without borders?

I am tired of tax money spent on this topic in any way whatsoever. Tired of Spanish brochures, commercials, requirements, etc.

If we get rid of the problem and send it home, we won't have to worry about it. It all comes back to no illegal immigration.

If Obama, Clinton, and McCain all came out against illegal immigration then no one person would have the upper hand. I am so sick of this pandering crap it is going to be the demise of our country because it segregates the population. It's blacks vs. whites, whites vs. hispanic/latino, blacks vs. hispanic/latino and do asians even register in the radar? It's ridiculous. I wish someone would step forward and state the obvious, IA broke the law they cost the USA BILLIONS every single year, you can't qualify for welfare when you need it because they take it, you have no health insurance or you're broke because of how much health care costs because of IA and their use of emergency rooms as doctors offices, your kids are getting a crappy education because of hundreds of millions spent on esl classes and the dumbing down of education for OUR students because of IA and their kids and their unwillingness to learn english, after school programs are under funded because of IA, you can't afford preschool or qualify for head start because they are full of anchor babies, college is not affordable for you but it is for IA and anchor babies, you need to be bilingual to accomodate IA but they can get a job freely using someone elses SSN and breaking the law that would get you if you broke the same law 5-10 years in prison and they don't even need to know english, your property taxes are rising to help pay for the IA and their anchor babies when they can buy a house and get help paying paying property taxes, they can afford brand new suvs while you're struggling to pay your bills because they helped to depress wages and stole jobs Americans actually do. SO for all those US CITIZENS who are PRO AMNESTY because they know someone who is IA or because they think it's beneficial to them in some way because most IA share the same color of skin or what not or speak the same language that makes you a traitior to your country and a racist, xenophobe, and socioethnocentric moron.

Called Senator Lamar Alexander's Office to express appreciation. I will contact others to say thank you as well.

    Ephesians 4:32
    Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Yesterday the Senate voted agaist a Vitter amendment to stop the pork barrel 2 million dollars in aid going to Berkley to send a message after they tried to run out the Marine recuiting office...

it got voted down, Vitter said they should not even be getting the money in the first place, that they don't need it, ( wonder if they have in state tuition) but Boxer got up there and said what a spitful amendment this was and yelled and screamed until she scared the cowards away from voting for the amendment
