FBI Director: ISIS Is Top Threat to US

James Comey said ISIS' success is in recruiting fighters both overseas and in America, as well as the creation of a “terrorist diaspora.”

The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) remains the top threat America is facing, FBI Director James Comey said this week.

Speaking to reporters from the FBI office in Minnesota, Comey said the threat stems from the terror group’s success in recruiting fighters both overseas and in America.

Comey mentioned a third threat as well which he called a “terrorist diaspora” – hardened and experienced fighters from in Syria and Iraq that infiltrate Western Europe, and from there, are able to travel to the U.S.

“There’s three prongs to this ISIL threat,” Comey said. “The recruitment to travel, the recruitment to violence in place, and then what you saw a preview of in Brussels and in Paris — hardened fighters coming out, looking to kill people.”

The FBI is “laser-focused on that,” Comey added.

Comey’s remarks were part of a two-day visit to Minnesota following the recent terror convictions of three young Minnesota men from the Somali community. Ten men in total were charged in the case that rocked the community – six pleaded guilty and a seventh, who has not been apprehended, is thought to have joined ISIS in Syria.

Comey plans to talk with community leaders and local law enforcement agencies in MInnesota.

The FBI director also noted that there still remain about 1,000 open cases across America of people recruited to the Islamic State. Although the number of open cases has remained constant, the actual number of recruits travelling to Syria has dropped in the last year, from close to six to 10 attempts per month to about one or two.

However, the director said the reason for the drop is unknown. Recruits may be travelling to other locations that don’t arouse the suspicion of officials or, since travel to Syria has become more difficult, recruits are choosing to stay in the U.S. to carry out attacks.

In the best cases scenario, terror recruits have been stopped by family or community members, Comey said.

Experts And German FBI Warn Of Impending ISIS Chemical Or Nuclear Attack On Western Targets

"...threat of a nuclear attack is the highest since the Cold War."

    Yochanan Visser June 9, 2016 at 3:26pm

On Thursday the Islamic State again targeted the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.

The Jihadist terror organization staged two suicide bombings that took the lives of at least 31 people.

The deadliest attack targeted the market of a Shiite neighborhood, the favorite target of ISIS in Baghdad.

Nineteen people died, and another 46 were wounded when a suicide bomber detonated his explosive device in a crowd of people.

Another 12 people were murdered and 32 were injured when a suicide bomber drove his car bomb into an Army checkpoint north of Baghdad.

Ján Kubiš, the U.N. special envoy to Iraq said in a statement the attacks were “cowardly acts that not only aim at inflicting a heavy toll on the civilian population but also seek to weaken the country’s unity and destroy its social fabric.”

He added that the “Islamic State should not be allowed to succeed.”

The increase in terror attacks in Iraq could be only the beginning of a much larger terror campaign now that ISIS is facing mounting battle losses in Syria, Iraq and Libya where government forces have now reportedly entered the Islamic State’s stronghold, Sirte.

This terror campaign could very well involve weapons of mass destruction including nuclear weapons reports the International Luxembourg Forum On Preventing Nuclear Catastrophe.

The Forum says that the threat of a nuclear attack is the highest since the Cold War.

“ISIS has already carried out numerous chemical weapons attacks in Syria; we know it wants to go further by carrying out a nuclear attack in the heart of Europe. This, combined with poor levels of security at a host of nuclear research centers in the former Soviet Union mean the threat of a possible ‘dirty-bomb’ attack on a Western capital is high,” Viatcheslav Kantor, the President of the Luxembourg Forum, told the Independent.

Kantor told a conference in Amsterdam on Thursday that the terrorists who carried out the attack on Zaventem International Airport in Brussels, Belgium at the end of March had been monitoring a Belgian nuclear facility.

“Their previous documented attempts to gain access to a nuclear power station in Belgium are evidence of their intent. The terrorists don’t necessarily have to use a ‘dirty bomb.’ We are not just talking about stolen nuclear material, using conventional explosives in a nuclear plant, such as smuggling in a bomb, would have catastrophic consequences,” Kantor told the attendants of the conference.

Des Browne, who is a former British Defense Secretary and is now the vice-chairman of the Nuclear Threat Initiative and a member of the Luxembourg Forum, said that ISIS could be working on a dirty bomb. He also said the Islamic State has seized uranium isotopes during the conquest of Mosul in Iraq.

“It isn’t that hard to build a ‘dirty bomb.’ They may not kill that many people with such a bomb, but the effect on the environment, the infrastructure and the psychological impact on people would be devastating. They can also use cyber warfare to target a nuclear facility,” Browne told the conference.

It was the second time in less than a year that experts warned ISIS is likely working on a dirty bomb.

Western Journalism reported in June 2015 that according to Australian intelligence, the Islamic State was in the possession of enough radioactive material to build a large and devastating dirty bomb.

The nuclear material needed for the bomb was likely obtained in Iraq and in Syria where eyewitnesses reported that ISIS was digging at the site that once housed the Syrian nuclear reactor in Deir a-Zur. This secret Syrian nuclear reactor at Al-Kibar in Deir a-Zur was destroyed in 2007 by the Israeli Air Force in a spectacular raid called Mivtza Bustan.

At the end of last year it was revealed that smugglers with ties to the Russian mafia in Moldova had intended to sell nuclear material to terrorist groups, including the Islamic State. The attempts were foiled after the Moldovan authorities revealed they had discovered that the criminals exploited “a breakdown in cooperation between Russia and the West on security issues.”

The alarming news about ISIS’ attempts to obtain a nuclear weapon or to launch a bomb attack on a nuclear facility came the same day the Federal Criminal Office in Germany warned for an impending ISIS WMD attack on crowds at the Euro 2016 soccer tournament that will start Friday.

The German FBI warned that ISIS could use flying drone bombs packed with chemical agents to wreak havoc during the tournament. The threat has already resulted in the establishment of no-fly zones in the vicinity of French stadiums where the matches will take place.

The Mirror reported, “In the past two years there have been dozens of illegal drone flyovers at sensitive nuclear and military plants in France.” It remains unclear who carried out the drone flights but it could be that they were related to ISIS’ plans to carry out a mega terrorist attack in Europe.

The Obama and Merkel "legacy" will be felt worldwide. They will be remembered as the 2 most ignorant, destructive, hard headed individuals to our Nation.

The human smugglers from Mexico are cleaning up. They are getting these folks into the country. Once in, there are so many soft targets for them, we are screwed again. What does Hillary want to do if she becomes president within the first 100 days? Oh no, we have to cut a deal quick with respect to sealing off the borders.

You can have 1,000,000 illegals paid $20 an hour to build the wall. Pitch tent cities on the Southern side and as sections become closed (finished), well here is your last paycheck. You must come in through the front door now and there is a little wait, about 5 years.

If we have the technology to find a black box at the bottom of the ocean (around 2 miles down) we should be well equipped to ferret out every tunnel dug along the southern border. We are going to have to set priorities soon regarding ISIS coming through the southern border.

American Workers must build the wall, no illegal aliens. All work from all sources must all go to American Workers like it's supposed to.

Leave it to Trump. Look at who he has used in the past to perform construction like that.

Judy, you missed the humor and irony of my suggestion of using 1M illegal immigrants in the US to construct the wall. The humor was when they are finished, they would be on the other side and not allowed in illegally. Inexpensive deportation, but just a little jab at some humor not that it would ever be done this way, but since you wanted to know who he has used in the past, here is a little sample. I am sure there are many legal immigrants and Amercians as well. Doesn't make him a bad guy and what is left out is the manufacturing for his clothing lines. We will assume that has been performed in China.

DonaldTrump’s latest construction project in the heart of Washington D.C. is beingbuilt by laborers — some of whom have reportedly admitted to crossingthe U.S. border illegally.

Alvarez and scores of other Hispanic workers are buildingthe $200 million, 272-room Trump International Hotel at the site of the OldPost Office Pavilion on Pennsylvania Ave., just blocks from the White House.

"The majority of us are Hispanics, many who cameillegally," Ivan Arellano told the Post. Arellano, 29, is a mason workerwho arrived from Mexico as an undocumented worker and now reportedly has legalstatus. "And we're all here working very hard to build a better life for ourfamilies."
Lend Lease, the principal contractor for the latest Trumpproject, is responsible for following immigration laws, The Trump Organizationsaid.
"Mr. Trump, who is the 100 percent owner of the OldPost Office, hired one of the largest contractors in the world to act as thegeneral contractor," Trump attorney Michael D. Cohen told the Post.
"That company is Lend Lease. They then go out andemploy subcontractors to work for them. The obligation to check all workers onsite is exclusive to Lend Lease. This, of course, assumes that the assertionregarding the employees' status is accurate."

    http://www.nydailynews.com/news/poli...le-1.2283581te."

and if that wasn't enough, here are some more:

Donald Trump is staking his run for U.S. president in part on a vow to protect American jobs. But this month, one of his companies, the elite Mar-a-Lago Club resort in Florida, applied to import 70 foreign workers to serve as cooks, wait staff and cleaners.

Trump owns companies that have sought to import at least 1,100 foreign workers on temporary visas since 2000, according to U.S. Department of Labor data reviewed by Reuters. Most of the applications were approved, the data show.

Two of his companies, Trump Model Management and Trump Management Group LLC, have sought visas for nearly 250 foreign fashion models, the records show.

The temporary work visa program through which Trump's companies have sought the greatest numbers of workers, H-2B, brings in mostly workers from Mexico. Mexicans made up more than 80 percent of the 104,993 admissions to the United States on H-2B visas in 2013. The Trump companies have sought at least 850 H-2B visa workers.

In addition to the resort and the modeling agencies, the Trump-owned companies identified in the Reuters analysis were Jupiter Golf Club, Lamington Farm Club LLC, Trump Miami Resorts Management LLC, Trump National Golf Club LLC, Trump Payroll Chicago LLC and Trump Vineyard Estates LLC.

I see, well the US government should not hire illegal aliens to build the wall. Trump doesn't use illegal alien labor. Hispanic does not meet illegal. The Hispanic workers interviewed by the Washington Post story has already been debunked. That story was false and shame on the Washington Post reporter who set that mess up and anyone who believed a word of it.

    Good Grief.

I have no problem with resorts and others using temporary foreign labor for seasonal employment in certain markets. But, if the labor isn't needed, which it might not be today with all the unemployment, the government needs to halt the program.

    So, I will repeat:

We need a 10 to 20 year Moratorium on All Immigration, and we need it immediately.

Our military built the Alaska Highway in less than 10 months for fear of Japanese invasion. They can certainly build The Wall. We already pay their paychecks. They can also do their training exercises in our deserts.

No papers, no entry, no rights. Military "Operation Return to Sender".

They came through Mexico and they can be turned right back around and go BACK through Mexico. Put the pressure on Mexico to stop the human trafficking and stop invading OUR Country.
