FEDS VOW TO GET TOUGH ON ILLEGALS
    Tue Aug 23 2005 17:15:30 ET

Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, acknowledging public frustration over illegal immigration, said Tuesday that the federal government's detention and deportation system must be fundamentally restructured.

"We have decided to stand back and take a look at how we address the problem and solve it once and for all," Chertoff said during a breakfast meeting with reporters.

The NEW YORK TIMES is planning a front page placement for the Chertoff comments on Wednesday, newsroom sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.

The unusually blunt assessment by the nation's top immigration official comes after governors in New Mexico and Arizona recently declared a border-related "state of emergency," citing a surge in smuggling and violence associated with the steady flow of illegal immigrants.

I won't hold my breath. I read about this earlier. It's got the smell of an about-face like Richardson and Napolitano two-steppin'.

Mopheadblue, I can relate to your feelings. The same thoughts are stirring around my mind too.

But for the moment, I will say Hallelujah again. If it really turns out to mean that our country is starting to make a turn in the right direction, a direction which puts the safety and well-being of the American people as the number one priority in this country,.....then I will write that Hallelujah in RED BOLD PRINT, like on my William Gheen on Fox news post. Okeedokie?

I am going on the title of that news piece: FEDS VOW TO GET TOUGH ON ILLEGALS. Now I want to hear HOW.

We can only hope, but let's all keep in mind that Chertoff has been ordered to fulfill as much of the Open Borders plan as possible through "Proceedural and Regulatory Changes" to facilitate the legitimate flow of people across the borders.

    Everyone remember that artilce?

Yep, they did in 1986 too. "Tough new sanctions on employers" they said. "New standards for immigration" they said.......Oh I forgot amnesty for 8+ million too. The amnesty part was the ONLY part they actually did. Please don't be fooled. Any new bill must include at least 5 years of very agressive employer enforcement with NO amnesty or guest workers. This should include a $25,000 fine and six months in jail for each illegal employed for the owner or CEO of the company hiring them regardless of claims he didn't know. His company should be responsible for verifying the persons citizenship. This would be very easy to set up a minimal information database that would give the name of the original issuee for the social security number given for employment. Then the name can be further verified. Make a requirement that if a person applies for a job giving a social other than their own, they must be reported to the police for identity theft. Any other suggestions to make the enforcement work? Try going to the link below. If it wasn't such a giant smelly load of lies, it might almost be funny.

    Thanks for the links.

Yea, today's announcement had a certain smell to it that just wasn't right. The general public who relies only on the MSM will be duped. They need to learn the rest of the story - and become wise to manuvering lying politicians!
