Death of the Republican Party?
Rush Limbaugh said the following during his program today:
"I can see possibly not supporting the Republican nominee this election, and I never thought that I would say that in my life."
If McCain or Huck win the nomination, the Republican party will be destroyed for a generation. This is not hyperbole or overstatement at all. Rush and most fo the talk radio conservatives are saying it. The party itself will still exist but it will be liberal like the democrats, not at all conservative.
There is literally NO difference between the policies of McCain/Huck and Hitlery/Osama, with two issues being the exception. Warmongering for mccain and pro life for Huck. On every other issue they are liberals.
So, do you all agree that the party is destroyed if they are the nominee?

Yes, I believe that the Republican Party is headed for self-destruction. Don't worry though. It was bound to happen. Like its Whig and Federalist predecesors, the Republican Party is going extinct because it is not taking a stand on the fundamental issue of the day. It is the natural evolution of the American political process. The Reps are going down, and will be replaced by a much better party. One that actually cares about the American middle-class, immigration, and outsourcing. Think Lou Dobbs.
Serve Bush with his letter of resignation.
See you at the signing!!

I am personally looking forward to create a new and fresh conservative party!!
I am done with old demo and republicans in Washington. They are ALL phony!!Once abolish the God and the government becomes the God.*** -G.K. Chesterton from the book 'The Shack' by Wm. Paul Young-

But if McCain is the nominee then the Republican "brand" is badly tarnished, possibly beyond repair. In that case it might be easier to start a new party than to try and convince conservatives to vote republican again.

Not just McCain and Huckabee----but Guliani as well!!!
Unless the nominee becomes Romney, I believe that a LOT of people are not going to bother voting!!!
Why would they?? It will mean a push for amnesty for 20+ million no matter if the Dems or the Reps win the election!!"We call things racism just to get attention. We reduce complicated problems to racism, not because it is racism, but because it works." --- Alfredo Gutierrez, political consultant.

I think that the transformation started subtly with Bush senior and 8 years of Clinton really created a great enough polarity that many issues were lost in the back and forth.
I have been unable to find a political party in world history that has done to its own what the Republican party did in the past few years. It is truly astonishing. Even the most tyrannical parties never attacked their own or betrayed their own. This is most bizarre, but the is the horse that Ed Gillespie lead the charge on and went for the kill with. I can find 0 moral principles in these mongrels. I also will never forget the betrayals and the lying, those are the hardest to reconcile. We have to get rid of these tyrants regardless of what party banner they are flying and may they find an empty and sad existence and spend the rest of their lives suckling off of Jim Robinsons vestigal teet.

Bush Jr barely won in 00 due to our disgust over Clinton's behavior not because his "compassionate conservatism". He won in 04 due to the war and also because he kept his mouth shut about amnesty during his first term.
Now everyone knows where he stands and he would lose McGovern style if he could run again.
The "moderate and compassionate" Republicans have slowly been eroding the Reagan coalition since 1989.
