Senate AgJOBS Fight Expected on Farm Bill as Early as Next Week
(October 26) Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) announced today that The Farm Bill Extension Act of 2007 (H.R. 2419) is likely to come up for debate on the Senate floor during the week of November 5. Recently, Leader Reid had promised to attempt to attach the AgJOBS amnesty for illegal farmworkers to the farm bill during floor consideration. Despite the pleas of some open borders senators to forgo debate of additional amnesties this year, it appears another major Senate battle may be in the works as early as next week. CongressDaily reported this morning that although Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) supports "resolving immigration problems," he will "resist" efforts to add AgJOBS to the farm bill.
By and large, this is the same AgJOBS amnesty proposed last year, which, if enacted, would reward an estimated 1.5 million illegal aliens with amnesty (plus their spouses and children which could push the total to three million or more). This measure also would provide amnesty for employers who broke the law by hiring illegal aliens. Pro-amnesty advocacy groups are telling their members that Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) have promised them that AgJOBS will be attached to the farm bill this fall and be signed into law.
The Federal government offers the H-2A visa which allows farmers to import unlimited numbers of foreign agricultural workers for specific short-term work. Those complaining growers mostly bypass the H-2A visa program because they would have to pay an almost acceptable wage under the program, whereas wages for illegal aliens are far less.
Occasionally, a news story about "rotting crops" mentions that H-2A workers are available, but quotes growers as saying that going through legal channels of immigration is too cumbersome. NumbersUSA has worked with some of the most pro-farmer Members of Congress to streamline the H-2A program, make it faster, more dependable and remove a few somewhat outdated requirements. However, the farm group lobbyists have failed to support reforms and, instead, have put all their efforts into an amnesty for the illegal workers their clients already are hiring.
Call your senators to urge them to oppose an AgJOBS amnesty amendment on the farm bill: 202-224-3121.

What don't these corrupt politicians understand here? Do the American people have to storm the Bastille before they get it? We don't want amnesty no matter what its currently called or what reason is hatched. We want our laws enforced fairly and all the invaders repeled and ejected.
I'm warming up my keyboard for this next round...I'm finding that my latest calls to our Senators are becoming a lot more blunt and direct then they were just a few months ago. I always seem to end up back with "What doesn't the Senate understand? The American people have spoken very loudly and clear on this matter, if not for pandering or just corruption why else would the Senate choose to ignore the views of 80% of Americans?""American"Â*with no hyphen andÂ*proud of it!

Fight Against AG-JOBS Amnesty
I am SO ready to "Light Up The (Switchboard) Lives" of lawmakers who support passing this unnecessary amnesty!!! I makes me doubly angry that Sen. Reid keeeps taking so much of the nation's time with these special-interest amnesty proposals when important national issues such as long-range defense, agricultural, etc., appropriations are really the only major issues which should be under consideration!

BRING IT ON, DIRTY HARRY.
YOU DO NOT KNOW WHEN TO QUIT SO WE HAVE TO STOP YOU.
WHAT PART OF "NO" DO YOU NOT UNDERSTAND.
"NO" AMNESTY OF ANY KIND EVER AGAIN.
LEGAL IMMIGRATION ONLY.
TEMPORARY WORKERS PROGRAM "ONLY"
WE, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE, WILL FIGHT THIS AND WE ARE NOT LOSERS.
Farmers are short of farm workers because they do not come back to work another season. They go on to the inner cities and take jobs from our men, women and children.
The AG bill will just be more of the SAME. A never ending amnesty circle, year after year, of farm workers because they will be given amnesty and leave the farms.
Thus more farm workers will be needed and more amnesties.
With 20 million illegal aliens in this country, why do we need more if they are doing jobs Americans will not do. They certainly not on the farms.
They are taking jobs away from American workers and sending them out of the country. They are allowing illegal aliens to come in and take what jobs are left. Now they want to bring more workers in. All of this to provide cheap labor for corporations.
