    Finger pointing

There is entirely too much finger pointing going on in this country in regards to whose fault it is about the catastrophe in New Orleans.

The mayor could have done more, the president could have done more, FEMA could have done more, everyone could have done more. The whole damn system failed for one reason or another. The problem is, will this happen again? We know another one is coming sometime, but will we have learned from our mistakes?

Our leaders at EVERY level are failing us. The mayor failed to create and initiate new protocol (especially in his low-lying city) before any storm, and Bush yanked funding from the Army Corps of Engineers to work on the levy.

It all comes down to this: A traffic light is not put in place until someone is killed. That's our country's mindset. We don't do the things we are supposed to do. As long as this is the case, finger pointing is child's play.

One thing that I learned is that following FEMA'S orders could prove to be very dangerous.

We already know who to blame.
