In the footsteps of St. Joan of Arc
This saint is just the right one for our time and place in history.
Six centuries ago, France was in the same sad shape America is in now, plagued by war, foreign invasion, domestic strife, and economic chaos. Worst of all, the rightful heir to the French throne, the Dauphin Charles VII, had been publicly denounced as illegitimate by none other than his own mother, Queen Isabeau, who treacherously signed away his crown to England, leaving France with no real leader and thus inciting fear and dismay among her people.
Likewise, in the midst of war, foreign invasion, domestic strife, and economic chaos racking America today, US President George W. Bush signed away his country and his fellow Americans on March 23, 2005, by affirming the first step toward the North American Union with then-Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin and then-Mexican President Vicente Fox, each of whom, in so doing, also betrayed his own country and fellow citizens. Consequently, ever since, America has had no real leaders and this has sparked fear and dismay among our people.
St. Joan of Arc experienced the same odious outrage that US Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean now endure.
She was brutally persecuted for persevering as a real patriot, viciously vilified for clinging to her beloved native France. Yet, no matter how fierce or prolonged the abuse, St. Joan of Arc stood firm. She chose to remain true to herself as a Frenchwoman, and in so doing, she remained true to her family, her friends, her French compatriots, and to God. And ultimately her persecutors were justly discredited and disgraced, and this steadfast patriot became a great saint.
Today, Ramos and Compean follow in the footsteps of St. Joan of Arc. Like her, they are being cruelly defamed for being real patriots. Yet, regardless of the savage persecution they suffer for their beloved native America, Ramos and Compean choose to be true to themselves as Americans. And in so doing, Ramos and Compean remain true to their families, their friends, their fellow Americans, and to God.
And, ultimately, the tycoons and traitors among our contemporary leaders will be rightly refuted and reviled, and true American patriots like Ramos and Compean, their families, their friends, and all their fellow Americans who compassionately and courageously stood with them, will be gratefully remembered and deeply revered by future generations of Americans.--joazinha, Wednesday, May 28, 2008; posted on alipac on the Feast of St. Joan of Arc, Friday, May 30, 2008

Although no fan of Roman Catholism, new age baptistism or evangelism , I do think Joan was a good person. She held onto her princples til the end .
What is being done to these two border agents is a black eye to the citizens of this nation .
They may have Compas and Ramas now, but the time may come when they do the same to the rest of us, then who will stand up ? Reminds me of a german story too' by the time they came for me, there was no one left to help'.

05-30-2008, 06:02 PM #4Although no fan of Roman Catholism,
I wouldn't call Joan a fan of the leadership of the church either. The church leadership forced her to wear a dress and opened the door for a monarch to violate her. The behavior of the Catholic leadership was despicable all the way from monks, up to the Pope that refused her an audience. The only reason she was canonized is because she publicly prophesied and they could not deny her canonization, they had to acknowledge her or loose a congregation.
You want to know her story then read her trial transcript and canonization testimony by friends and family. Don't watch those stupid videos, they have been Hollywoodized. Most of the story is missing and they make her seem crazy.

Hollyhood fouls up everything it touches almost . I am very mad that i can't even watch tv anymore with some fruit cake or cursing lunatic coming on to infect my eyes and ears with filth . I am not prudish but I do have my limits . I am not a great person either, but what part of me I don't like or I think may hurt others I don't promote . I may see them in hell but I don't have to see them here .
Dixie, I will have to try and read her story one day . I always liked history and non fiction. I an older now and forgot more than i rememebr, but I still like to read .

NoAmnesty,
I couldn't agree more. I heard a commercial the other night, that I have not heard since I was a child. "It's 10 O’clock, do you know where your kids are"?
I agree, I am sick of the heterosexual and homosexual sex acts on TV. If I want to watch soft porn, I can purchase cable, a video or go to the internet, I don't need it piped right into my house for free and for anyone unsupervised to see it. TV needs to clean up.

Thanks Dixie ,I will have to read more on it .
And yes it is a shame when you can't even watch movies anymore unless you buy or rent them from family sites. Even then you have to be careful, soon they will all be sued into bringing in all kinds of lifestyles as 'family'.
