I think that may have been true in the past but our declining financial situation as a nation has made predators out of many of our own. So when we try with our limited means to get into business or get ahead in business we get ripped off repeatedly to where we have nothing left. It has happened to us many times. Can't get restitution when the perp is in jail or dead either. We have some stories to tell. We are not ashamed. Anyways I am having difficulty with your statement - seems prejudiced. I more see it as a class issue and there are plenty of euro-descent people in that class. A huge part of it is not making enough money to do the planning and precautionary measures. Also it is not taught from generation to generation. Lots of employers offer all kinds of benefits for the employees to take advantage of for self protection down the road - but they do not pay enough for the employee to purchase the benefits. Then there are others who are so disgusted with the insurance industry that they refuse to purchase it and instead carry huge bills with them at all times in the event they do end up in ER those huge bills will be found and they will get good care based on the assumption they have money to pay for it.

A major health event can cause one to lose everything too. Yes there is some insurance for that - but also a zillion ways to slide out of their commitment too.

I agree yet in recent years I have found that the federal entities that are supposed to help are dangerously compromised - seemingly all of them. Kind of like the MMS that was supposed to be monitoring BP but was busy watching porn and playing games.

I cant afford much anymore, with rent, bills, ect. I went down to the county DSHS office to apply for food stamps, and I pay taxes, I think I am entitled to a bit of help when I need it. Anyways they make it a damn circus, all the forms and appointments. There is always illegals at the DSHS office, A TON OF THEM WITH A TON OF BABIES. They get free hand outs like bags of groceries while their food stamp benefits are pending, free baby formula, and medicaid.

If you guys go down to the DSHS office and pick up a food benefits or medicaid application packet, it will say on the first page that anyone without proof of a social security number is allowed to receive benefits. I dont know if they made this for newborn babies, that have their SS pending, or what but I think it's kinda bogus, and I wonder how come also so many illegals drive such nice cars, I mean seriously I see them driving 30,000.00 brand new chevy silverado's all tricked out, I barely see regular people drive trucks like that what the heck?! There must be alot more loopholes that we dont know about going on, or REALLY crooked car dealers that take people without credit or proof of residence, wow! They drive these nice cars and go get benefits ment for those who dont have the means to support themselves, its all corrupt I tells ya.
