Castañeda needs to read the news regarding Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal and Ireland; and what it has brought to the European Union. DEBT!!!!

The common currency in the Euro bloc, the Euro, is in deep trouble because of the economic problems of Greece, Spain, Ireland, Portugal and Italy. It would probably be in even more trouble if Great Britain was part of the Euro Zone given their economic woes.

The idea that a common currency among different sovereign nations solves any problems is a fallacy. It creates problems when the weaker economies drag the value of the currency down. Likewise, socio-political unions are not a solution either. The EU is teetering now. The worldwide economic recession, the Euro Zone problems, scandals such as the one over climate change, and un-restricted immigration from 3rd world countries are setting the stage for the mother of all political crashes.

If the EU and its common currency have created more problems than it has solved in Europe, why expect a similar arrangement here to fare any better?
