    FRANKLIN GRAHAM QUITS REPUBLICAN PARTY

Evangelical leader also calls on Christians to enter public office

    BOB UNRUH
    12/22/2015

    Rev. Franklin Graham
Franklin Graham says in order for America to avoid trouble that is on the horizon, Christians need to pray about running for office “where they can have an impact.”

And, by the way, he writes, that doesn’t necessarily mean aligning with the Republican Party, which throughout the years has had a long history of supporting biblical values.

    Because he’s gone.

“Unless more godly men and women get in this process and change this wicked system,” the chief of Samaritan’s Purse wrote on his Facebook page, “our country is in for trouble.

“I want to challenge Christians, even pastors, across the country to pray about running for office where they can have an impact. We need mayors, [county] commissioners, city council members, school board members who will uphold biblical values.”

He had been referencing the political system in the U.S., and said neither the Democrats nor the Republicans can be looked to for help.

He cited the recent budget approved by House Speaker Paul Ryan, endorsed by the House and Senate and signed by President Obama – more than a trillion dollars of spending. Nowhere does it protect the lives of the unborn, he noted.

“This is an example of why I have resigned from the Republican Party and declared myself independent. I have no hope in the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, or tea party to do what is best for America.”

On Facebook, he wrote, “Shame on the Republicans and the Democrats for passing such a wasteful spending bill last week. And to top it off, funding Planned Parenthood! A Huffington Post article called it ‘a big win for Planned Parenthood.’

“I call it a big loss for America. After all of the appalling facts revealed this year about Planned Parenthood, our representatives in Washington had a chance to put a stop to this, but they didn’t. There’s no question – taxpayers should not be paying for abortions! Abortion is murder in God’s eyes. Seeing and hearing Planned Parenthood talk nonchalantly about selling baby parts from aborted fetuses with utter disregard for human life is reminiscent of Joseph Mengele and the Nazi concentration camps! That should’ve been all that was needed to turn off the faucet for their funding.”
Yet he said, “Nothing was done to trim this 2,000 page, $1.1 trillion budget.”

He pointed out that he soon will be on a nationwide tour of capitals to have prayer for the nation.

“I will begin going state by state to every capital in our nation to hold prayer rallies for our country and share this same challenge on the Decision America Tour. Des Moines, Iowa, is first on January 5. I hope you’ll join me in your capital – check decisionamericatour.com for more dates and details.”

At BizPacReview, a commentary called the vote approving taxpayer money for abortionists at the industry behemoth Planned Parenthood “the final straw.”

The report said, “Graham followed up his thoughts with these tweets: ‘Our representatives in Washington could have stopped Planned Parenthood & taxpayer funded abortion but they didn’t.’”

Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit added, “Graham made the announcement after the Paul Ryan-Mitch McConnell led Congress passed a ‘wasteful’ trillion dollar spending bill that funds the baby organ harvesters at Planned Parenthood. … We stand with you, Brother Graham!”

The call for Christians to public office has been around for some time. In 2012, Mike Huckabee said Christians need to get more involved in civic life.

“Many (Christians) think they were recruited by the Secret Service instead of giving a bold declaration of the life of the Gospel,” he said at the time.

A few months ago, Ben Carson, the former neurosurgeon who’s risen high in the race for president, told a group of Christians and political activists it’s high time for those of the faith to get in the game and put God back in charge of America.

“It is time to bring God back into our country,” Carson said, Breitbart reported. “Our faith gives us our freedom.”
He made the comments while addressing a crowd of 7,000-plus at the Faith and Freedom Coalition Presidential Candidate Forum moderated by Jack Graham.

“The people are supposed to have a say in how they live,” Carson said, speaking of the power of self-governance.
He also credited God with placing him in his current position of influence, and said he had never set out in life with the goal of running for president.

And a former National Football League player who now is working with the Family Research Council previously called for more Christians to be speaking up as America chooses distinctly anti-Christian paths.
“I just don’t think there’s enough people standing up and being heard who really have thought through the ramifications of being silenced and the slippery slope that that’s on,” he said in an interview with WND/Radio America.

His comments come in light of a number of social movements, including the growing effort to force Christians to accept homosexual “marriage.”

A number of legal cases have been brought against Christians for refusing to advocate same-sex marriage.
It was that issue that got him removed from a job at Fox Sports Southwest. He had openly supported protections for traditional marriage while a candidate for office, and those statements were resurrected by homosexual activists when he got a position with Fox.

The network immediately removed him from his post.

“Fox Sports did fire me, and they did issue a statement to the Dallas Morning News that said that my comments and my biblical belief on the definition of marriage would not fly in their HR department,” said James.
He said that even though the “comments” referenced by Fox Sports did not specifically refer to his stand on marriage, it’s clear they were at issue.

He said Christians need to be vocal about their beliefs on such issues.

“Here’s what I really am fighting for: the freedom for me to continue to believe as I believe, for every player in that locker room who has a belief system to not fear for having that belief system and to feel like they’ve got to be quiet about it and sheltered.

“This two-way street that we’ve had forever of the First Amendment, right now there’s a bulldozer over in the lane of religious freedom trying to shut us down. We cannot accept that. I’m not going to accept that. I’m not telling anyone else what they have to believe. Don’t tell me what I have to believe.”
Listen to the interview with Greg Corombos of Radio America:

Don't you get it Franklin? The US doesn't want a barbaric government that forces pregnant girls and women into childbirth against their will. What in the name of God is Christian about forcing girls and women into childbirth against their will? Nothing.

Franklin, you are your own version of Shariah Law and Americans, Republican, Democrat, Independent, reject that in its entirety. We do not want Christian, Muslim, Catholic, Hindu, Jewish or any other religion forming government policy or passing laws that impose through the force of government its views on other people.

Religion is a personal spiritual relationship with God. Religion has nothing to do with running the affairs of a nation. In fact, one of the roles of our government is to protect the people at all levels of government from the tyranny of religions that want to impose through force or law their own religious views on others. One of the fundamental obligations of our national government is to protect our people from religious tyranny, whether it be Muslim, Christian or Other.

Judy's Five Republican Principles To Abide:

    1. If you don't believe in abortion, don't have one.
    2. If you don't believe in gay marriage, don't marry one.
    3. If you want it, you pay for it.
    4. If you breed 'em, you feed 'em.
    5. If you make it over there, you sell it over there.

Franklin, I grew up looking forward to your father's sermons on television. When I was young we couldn't afford a television and would go over to my grandparents to watch your Dad on their television. After listening to Billy Graham, we always felt better about everything, because Jesus truly lived in your dad. What you're doing doesn't do that. It does the opposite, because you are violating the very essence of the First Amendment by meddling in government affairs to force your religious views on others.

    Shame on you.

Support for legal abortion at highest level in 2 years
By NANCY BENAC and EMILY SWANSON
    Dec. 22, 2015 1:12 PM EST

WASHINGTON (AP) — Support for legal abortion in the U.S. has edged up to its highest level in the past two years, with an Associated Press-GfK poll showing an apparent increase in support among Democrats and Republicans alike over the last year.

Nearly six in 10 Americans — 58 percent — now think abortion should be legal in most or all cases, up from 51 percent who said so at the beginning of the year, according to the AP-GfK survey. It was conducted after three people were killed last month in a shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado.

However, just over a third of Americans want laws on abortion to be stricter than they are now, the poll shows, while a quarter think they should be less strict.

While support for legal abortion edged up to 40 percent among Republicans in this month's poll, from 35 percent in January, the survey found that the GOP remains deeply divided on the issue: Seven in 10 conservative Republicans said they want abortion to be illegal in most or all cases; six in 10 moderate and liberal Republicans said the opposite.

Count 55-year-old Victor Remdt, of Gurnee, Illinois, among the conservatives who think abortion should be illegal in most cases. He's adopted, and says he "wouldn't be here talking" if his birth mother had opted for abortion rather than adoption. Remdt, who's looking for work as a commercial driver, said he'd like to see abortion laws become more restrictive but adds that he's not a one-issue voter on the matter.

John Burk, a conservative Republican from Houston, Texas, is among those whose position on abortion is somewhere in the middle. He reasons that banning the procedure would only lead to "back-alley abortions." But he's open to restrictions such as parental notification requirements and a ban on late-term abortions.

Burk, a 59-year-old computer programmer, said he tracks his beliefs on the issue to his libertarian leanings and the fact that he's not religious. He doesn't see the nation coming to a resolution on the divisive issue any time soon, saying hard-liners on both sides of the question are entrenched and "they're never going to change."

Among Democrats, 76 percent of poll respondents now think abortion should be legal all or most of the time, up slightly from 69 percent in January.

Independents are more evenly split, with 54 percent saying abortion should be legal all or most of the time, edging up from 43 percent in January.

For Larry Wiggins, who describes himself as a liberal Democrat from Henderson, North Carolina, legal access to abortion should be — but isn't — a settled matter.

"A woman has the right to decide what she wants to do with her body," he said flatly. "I don't think the government has the right to interfere."

Nefertiti Durant, a 45-year-old independent voter from Columbia, Maryland, sees abortion as more complex matter, calling it "kind of a Catch-22." She thinks a woman should have the right to choose abortion but she's "not so keen on the fact that just anybody can go and have an abortion." She worries that young people may not understand the effects of the procedure, and the "deep issues" that go along with it.

Still, she said, abortion is legal and "let's just leave it at that. ... I don't think it's a matter of discussion."

It undoubtedly will be up for discussion, though, in a presidential election year. All of the Republican presidential candidates say they favor restricting abortion rights. The Democratic candidates support broad abortion rights.

Interest in the issue picked up this year after anti-abortion activists began releasing undercover videos they said showed Planned Parenthood personnel negotiating the sale of fetal organs. Planned Parenthood said any payments were legally permitted reimbursements for the costs of donating organs to researchers, and it has since stopped accepting even that money. Republicans have sought to cut off federal funding for Planned Parenthood, and several GOP-governed states have tried to block Medicaid funding to the organization.

Overall, the poll found, 45 percent of Americans have a favorable opinion of Planned Parenthood, and 30 percent have an unfavorable opinion. A quarter said they don't know enough about the organization to say.

The AP-GfK Poll of 1,007 adults was conducted online Dec. 3-7, using a sample drawn from GfK's probability-based KnowledgePanel, which is designed to be representative of the U.S. population. The margin of sampling error for all respondents is plus or minus 3.4 percentage points. Respondents were first selected randomly using telephone or mail survey methods, and later interviewed online. People selected for KnowledgePanel who didn't otherwise have access to the Internet were provided access at no cost to them.

People of all religions must learn that in this country, your personal spiritual religious views are your personal business, no one elses. You have the protected guaranteed right to practice your views for yourself, under the same First Amendment that protects everyone else to practice theirs for themselves. No religion has the right, power, expectation or authority in the United States to force their views through force or law on someone else.

Franklin, let us know when you've closed up all your 501 C 3 tax fraud "charities" and gotten a real job to support yourself. As for your leaving the Republican Party, that's actually great news as if anyone cared what political party you belong to. GET A REAL JOB and stop living off of tax exempt donations that deplete our federal revenues causing taxpayers to have to pay more taxes or incur more debt for nothing in return.

There has been a large number of people that are fed up with both parties and are exiting as independents in the past few years. most people have very strong personal views concerning abortion. That the government funds Planned Parenthood and Planned parenthood has been caught in the act of being a chop shop for human tissue. This is disgusting and disgraceful in my opinion.

Planned Parenthood only performs nationwide 27.5% of abortions in the US and they like all the other providers can only use federal funding for abortions if the female is poor and qualifies for Medicaid and is a victim of rape or incest or her life depends on the abortion.
