People under 55 don't recall that the 1970's was a go-go economy. Employers were begging for people. So many people assume that the highly competitive job market has always existed.

NOT TRUE!! Stop the wide open immigration and employee demand goes up and wages go up. The Americans who are now homeless, could have been working at the 12-15 dollar an hour jobs---which would then pay $20 per hour.

Exactly, Captainron. The average manufacturing wage in the US is around $20 an hour, 40 hours plus a week, plus health insurance, life insurance, retirement fund and opportunities for on the job training for upward promotions, often times day care programs, 401 k plans, thrift plans, stock buying opportunities, sometimes even profit-sharing, paid sick leave, paid vacation, etc., etc., etc.

Why would a government want to sell those jobs off to foreign countries and tell you to go work part-time at a Walmart or Burger House part-time for $9 an hour with limited or no benefits?
