I hate to say this, but the "enemy" 800 number was much simpler, and much LESS intrusive.

Edstate, what that tells me then this is a VERY legitimate number. If they are taking the time to get the appropriate information, then they are making sure they are verifying who is calling, from where, and what they say!! It's worth the time and effort to use the correct telephone numbers and give information.

Why not? I would rather put my calls on their dime...

Because the calls are being counted as calls for support for the bill. You think they are paying for those lines without an agenda?
