Gay man says he was brutally attacked on Election Night

A gay Canadian man says he was beaten up by some California thugs on election night – and a picture of his blood-soaked face is trending on Facebook.

Calgary filmmaker Chris Ball said he was at a bar in Santa Monica Tuesday watching the turn-out when things got heated on both sides.

“People started launching homophobic slurs at me from afar,” he told Metro Calgary. “I mean, I kind of got into it, but I didn’t want to provoke them.”

They were saying things like, “We got a new president you f–king faggots.”

Ball claimed when he left the bar – alone – he was followed by the homophobic drunks. When he veered through an alley, he said he was jumped by a group of men, one of which smashed a bottle over his head.

He fell back, he said, smashing his head on the concrete.

“When I came to, I remember waking up and wiping the blood from my eyes. I called some friends, they picked me up and I went right to the hospital,” he said.

Ball says he harbors no ill will towards Americans.

“I’m in pretty good spirits. That’s just how I have to handle it. I’m alive and well and still very gay,” he laughed.

Luckily the staples are the same colour as my grey hair!
