In the wake of reports that Central American news agencies are encouraging people to head to America’s southern border and the Obama Administration’s recent actions to combat the so-called humanitarian crisis that will result in some 60,000 unaccompanied children entering the United States this year alone, Glenn asked TheBlaze’s senior Washington correspondent Sara Carter to travel to border town of McAllen, Texas to get a better sense of what is happening.
“So where do we go from here? What happens from here? I’m not sure I’m going to lay it all out for you tonight yet, but I’m going to work on it today before 5 o’clock. If I can, I will debut it tonight, but I know the way out, and I know what is coming. I don’t know how to do the way out,” Glenn said on radio this morning. “For instance, on the border both the Republicans and the Democrats are involved in that… And the tables do need to be overturned.”
In just a few days’ time, Carter has uncovered some truly disturbing details about what border agents are facing and what the Obama Administration doesn’t want people to know. On Sunday, Carter published a report on TheBlaze.com detailing the pushback reporters and politicians alike are facing:
While reporters were kept from entering the McAllen Border Patrol station on Saturday where roughly 1,000 illegal immigrants — mainly children — were being held, a local Texas congressman made clear he wasn’t going to be kept out, and spent several hours talking to the children and Border Patrol agents inside.
Rep. Henry Cuellar, a Texas Democrat, told TheBlaze he wanted to see for himself the difficult conditions the Border Patrol agents are dealing with concerning the large migration of people from Central America to the U.S. over the past eight months. He also wanted to check on the condition of the children being temporarily housed in the overcrowded facility in the Rio Grande Valley border sector.

Monday morning, Carter posted another article – this time chronicling the “rehearsed” answers many illegal immigrants are offering to ensure they are able to cross the border:
A Honduran woman clutched her small baby boy from the back of a Border Patrol transport truck. She was sitting with 12 other people, mostly children, who had just made their way from Reynosa, Mexico, across the Rio Grande by the Anzalduas port of entry in Texas.
The mother, who had crossed first with one baby, had left her infant and older son along the banks of the river in Mexico. Her two children followed in a second raft and joined their mother after the Border Patrol took her into custody.
“We’re fleeing gang violence,” the mother told the Border Patrol agent, who detailed the conversation to TheBlaze on the condition that he not be named. The group did not run, but voluntarily turned themselves in to U.S. federal custody and claimed what is known as credible fear to apply for asylum in the U.S.
They all knew it was only a matter of time before they would be set free.

“They know exactly what to say,” Glenn said exasperatedly. “You will see pictures of one of the kids that was coming over, wearing an Obama 2008 election t-shirt, you know, thinking I guess, that’s what all Americans wear and we can all blend in. And soon, if the President has his way, I think we all will be wearing these Obama t-shirts.”
