We raised our kids about 70-80 miles from Texarkana. Lived in Texarkana a year while my husband set up an office for his company.

I miss East Texas, but where we lived, there was a large poultry concern and it was overrun with illegals. The town has changed completely. It used to be 50/50 black/white. Now half the blacks are gone, replaced by illegals - and then some. When I go there, I feel like half my family has moved away.
