House GOP to strike moderate tone on immigration
Carrie Budoff Brown has a really important story on the direction of immigration politics:
If conservatives expected Republican Rep. Lamar Smith to champion the most controversial anti-immigration measures when he takes control of the House Judiciary Committee next month, they’re in for a surprise.
After weeks of speculation that he would pursue a scorched-earth immigration agenda, Smith detailed his to-do list for the first time in an interview with POLITICO — and it’s an early but important signal that the new House Republican majority plans to attack the issue of immigration through the prism of jobs, rather than red meat for the base.
Smith’s first two hearings will focus on expanding E-Verify, a voluntary electronic system for checking the immigration status of workers that President Barack Obama supports and scrutinizing the administration’s record on worksite enforcement.
“They are what I call 70 percent issues — 70 percent or more of the American people support those efforts,â€"Men of low degree are vanity, Men of high degree are a lie. " David

Political correctness is and will continue to destroy America, simply we can no longer afford feeding and protecting the world especially if the grand plan is to lower our standards so others may grow then we must close the door to protect what remains. How do we remain a world power bleeding money to the third world shipping our manufacturing to them and at the same time importing there poor and under educated, the game plan for idiots.
For me there is no debate on illegal immigration it must STOP.I'm old with many opinions few solutions.

The GOP will kill us with a thousand cuts. Nothing has changed.
They won't talk about following our immigration laws. They will try and wiggle through some form of amnesty using 'the right sounding' language to tickle conservatives ears.
I saw the Dreamers talking with Jeff Sessions, and what he told them appeared to please them very much. I think he told them to be patient.
There are no Republicans who will truly enforce our laws.Ron Paul in 2011 "[...]no amnesty should be granted. Maybe a 'green card' with an asterisk should be issued[...]a much better option than deportation."

They seem to be turning this into a political football:
1. Stymie Democratic Party efforts to pass this legislation so they lose Hispanic voters
2. Come up with an alternative plan to gain them for the GOP"Men of low degree are vanity, Men of high degree are a lie. " David

Step back and take a deep breath
First off , Just because our guys control the house doesn't mean a whole lot yet
They can pass all the scorched earth policy they want , it would die in the senate , it would get the veto if it passed the senate
YOU ALL KNOW THIS SO CUT SMITH AND KING SOME SLACK
They know this also , What they will do is hit the issues they can make headway on , They also will start to lay the ground work for 2 years from now.
It took the govt 30 years to screw this up , They will need a little time to fix it but they know it needs fixing.

What's wrong with making E-verify and worksite enforcement your first two priorities of the US House Judiciary Committee? Isn't one of the top most goals of federal immigration enforcement to get these people out of our work force and keep them out so we can put 10 to 15 million Americans back to work and keep them off unemployment and welfare?!
You go Lamar Smith. And may I suggest that you incorporate state and local law enforcement's rights and authority to enforce US immigration law in the work places of their states in any legislation you pass. This not only upholds the US Constitution it allows the American People the ability to enforce our laws and solve this problem without having to allocate more federal resources when states, counties and communities are fully capable of doing this with existing already-funded state and local resources. Plus it expedites the remedy because while the feds spend years in investigations to raid one factory, local police officers already know who is and isn't hiring illegal aliens and have the proof to arrest and convict immediately.
Simultaneous to making E-verify mandatory and having worksite enforcement being efficiently and effectively handled by states, I'm sure someone else heading the House Sub-Committee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security, and International Law.will be holding hearings on HR 1868 or its comparable that ends automatic birthright citizenship for children of illegal aliens. After all, for those who may not know or who chose not to include it in their "keep hope alive" article, Lamar Smith is one of the 95 co-sponsors of that legislation and Steve King is the new Chariman of the House Sub-Committee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security, and International Law and who is also a co-sponsor of HR 1868.

Funny how making E-Verify mandatory and the enforcment of our immigration laws is now considered "scorched-earth immigration agenda."
If basic common sense now constitutes scorched-earth policy, then scorch all you want!Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

How is the Senator and the other GOP and all of the other politicians going to deal with all of the millions and millions of illegal alians who have been in our country illegally for 'a long time?' ..... They are going to be given some form of a path to citizenship! Period. They are not going to be sent home! They are going to be allowed to stay right here and keep right on working, while our people are praying for a job. That is why I call it a slow death.Ron Paul in 2011 "[...]no amnesty should be granted. Maybe a 'green card' with an asterisk should be issued[...]a much better option than deportation."
Thank you! We are ready to roll.
