This scene from the Book of Isaiah in the Bible reminds me of OUR situation today:

"When Ahaz, son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, was king of Judah, King Rezin of Aram and Pekah, son of Remaliah, king of Israel, marched up to fight against Jerusalem, but they could not overpower it.
"Now the house of David was told, 'Aram has allied itself with Ephraim!'; so the hearts of Ahaz and his people were shaken, as the trees of the forest are shaken by the wind.
"Then the Lord said to Isaiah, 'Go out, you and your son Shear-Jashub, to meet Ahaz at the end of the aqueduct of the Upper Pool, on the road to the Washerman's Field. Say to him, 'Be careful, keep calm, and don't be afraid. Do not lose heart because of these two smoldering stubs of firewood--because of the fierce anger of Rezin and Aram and of the son of Remaliah. Aram, Ephraim and Remaliah's son have plotted your ruin, saying, 'Let us invade Judah; let us tear it apart and divide it among ourselves, and make the son of Tabeel king over it.' Yet, this is what the Sovereign Lord says:
    "'It will not take place,
    it will not happen!'
for the head of Aram is Damascus,
and the head of Damascus is
    only Rezin.
    Within sixty-five years
    Ephraim will be too
    shattered to be a
    people.
    The head of Ephraim is
    Samaria,
and the head of Samaria is
    only Remaliah's son.
If you do not stand firm in your faith,
you will not stand at all."
(Isaiah 7: 1-9, New International Version)

I believe that Judah can be compared to OUR country today and the two smoldering stubs of firewood can be compared to the domestic and foreign traitors among us, ever seeking to DIVIDE and DESTROY our coutnry. I believe, too, that if we STAND FIRM in our faith in God, AND stand WITH ONE ANOTHER as TRUE fellow patriots, He WILL deliver us! (but if we DON'T, heaven forbid!)

I think these natural disasters, financial mess, terrorism, ect.. are the birthpangs described in the bible. God is trying to wake us up to turn to him and pray. I definately think we are living in the end times.

I read this article and was shocked to find out that by 2012 the 3rd largest religion will be Wicca. I cannot believe a pagan religion will be that large in America. Unbelievable. I can't believe so many will have turned away from Judeo-Christian teaching.

In case you haven’t noticed, kids, teenagers and adults around the world are becoming fascinated by mysterious energies flowing through witches. In rapidly increasing numbers, young and old are visiting popular Wicca/witchcraft web sites, buying spell books, joining covens, mixing potions, and practicing magic. If you doubt the trend, just visit http://www.walmart.com and type “Wicca.â€

This really seems to apply to our issue with illegal immigration too! WOW!! I had read this, but suddenly today it hit me how relevant this verse is to our border problems.
That is interesting. Anyone going about things the right way don't have to have their intentions questioned but one who chooses to do it wrong can't be blindly given the benefit of the doubt either.....

Morality has a place too. Ben Franklin was right when we he said our republic was created for a moral people only - the Constitution was totally inadequate for an immoral citizenry. Franklin also said that God helps those who help themselves - I think that was true too.
I heard that as well. About depending on a moral people to begin with....and it certainly seems to be true. Rember when your word was your bond, you could leave your door unlocked, you could actually trust people? Sure isn't that way anymore.

Not a Wiccan, I know a few are, and their faith is mostly seeing God through every living thing, every leaf on a tree and every bug roaming on the ground. They also believe in the powers of things ethereal which we do not understand.
The basis of Wicca is harking back to the paganism when mankind had no organized churches, no science and did not have any clue why there were things like storms or the Aurora Borealis, why there were stars in the sky or even why crops failed. Of course they believed in those "seers" for the future and watched as the seer cast some element into the fire and cure what ails or worries one.
There are plenty of Wiccans who have rejected the twisting of belief by organized churches, and there are probably many of the new Wiccans who are also going to be twisted into some sort of Wiccanism that is not true to its core.
