Have you called your senators about L.O.S.T.??

SENATE TO HOLD ONE MORE HEARING ON L.O.S.T.
Urge your Senators to Vote AGAINST the UN Law of the Sea Treaty!

This week, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will be holding its second hearing on the UN Law of the Sea Treaty.

The Law of the Sea Treaty, or LOST, created the International Seabed Authority (ISA), giving it total jurisdiction over all the oceans and everything in them, including the ocean floor with "all" its riches ("solid, liquid or gaseous mineral resources"), along with the power to regulate seven-tenths of the world's surface. The treaty remains highly defective, despite claims by both the Clinton and Bush Administrations that all Reagan's concerns have been "fixed." If the Senate were to ratify it, LOST would do the following:

Threaten American sovereignty by subjecting our governmental, military, and business operations to mandatory dispute resolution, to be decided by bodies that have a reputation for being Anti-American. These "disputes" will be decided in the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea.

Compromise American security by requiring the transfer of sensitive, militarily useful technologies to other nations and international organizations hostile to American interests.

Impose U.S. compliance with the Kyoto Protocol, the UN environmentalism treaty.

Establish an international tax, which would take money out of the American business revenue stream for the ISA's use and could be easily transferred to socialist, anti-American nations, which constitute the majority of the nations who have already ratified LOST.

Grant the U.S. only one vote, despite the fact that the vast majority of funding will come from American taxpayers.

Info again in case you need it.

During our last phone fest we had a lot of people who could not get through because the phone was always busy. I can assure you will be needing to call again simply because the AG Farms bill will be coming up for a vote and it will allow 1 million illegal immigrants to become legal and when they do it is estimated that they will bring in 1.8 million family members and Reid has promised a vote on this bill. Below you will find the way to make absolutely sure that you're message gets to them... Keep this handy, you will be needing it....

You can contact any Senators’ D.C. offices by calling the toll-free switchboard at 1-866-340-9281 Calling after hours, at night, or on weekends can be the most efficient way of making those calls. No busy signals, no rude/ignorant interns, just in-and-out in two minutes.

Thanks for the reminder, houston. I called my two senators, Burr and Dole. Spoke to staffers and told them I wanted my senators to vote it down and why. Also asked to be transferred to the staffer that directly is involved with this legislation. For Burr, it is a Cynthia Ramos and for
Dole, it is a Tara Pardue. Left specific voice mails and told them I wanted a call back to discuss this with them and want to know how my senator will be voting.

Received a call back just now from Tara, Dole's legislative staffer in DC. She said that Dole is opposed to the treaty and has grave concerns about it. She hasn't publicly committed to voting no but I feel reasonably confident she will vote against it.

Hey. ALIPAC'ers...there is still plenty of time to call your Senators and tell them to vote NO on L.O.S.T. The Senate will be in recess next week and they return October 15. The treaty might come up for vote that very week.

Allards DC office wasn't sure how he stands on this issue, but said that he is in agreement with NAFTA and the sort... f(so probably will be in agreement with this!!)
He so disappoints me with this CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!! Being IGNORANT to the facts of something in the beginning may be one thing... (although, there is still no excuse!!) but to see what this has done to our country and its citizens ...the DAMAGE it has caused...and STILL is in agreement with things such as this...is BEYOND belief!!!! This makes me truly WONDER about you Senator Allard!!!!!!!

Receied a call back from Cynthia, Burr's D.C. staffer on legislative issues. She said Burr has grave concerns regarding the treaty and it's erosion of U.S. sovergnity. He's a likely NO vote.
