Thread: Painsville, Ohio Supports ILLEGALS!

Some councilwomen by the name of Abby something...couldn't get her last name, was on FOX News saying that her town embraces Illegal Aliens and embraces them in their community!

Anyone here from Ohio? I guess breaking laws in her part of town is a good thing.

PAINESVILLE, Ohio (AP) -- At a time when some Ohio cities are struggling to deal with growing numbers of illegal immigrants, Painesville is trying to make it work.

Schools in this northeast Ohio city send notes home to parents in English and Spanish, and banks offer loan programs that allow undocumented immigrants to finance cars and even buy houses.

About 10,000 Mexican immigrants are in Lake County and nearby Ashtabula County.

Painesville City Manager Rita McMahon says a certain percentage are here illegally.

But immigrants are putting down roots here and the city needs to embrace it.

The attitude is different in other parts of Ohio.

In southwest Ohio's Butler County, some leaders want state legislation that would make it a state crime of trespass to be here illegally.
