HEY GOP: This Is Why We Won; Don’t Squander this Opportunity!

November 6, 2014 By Alex David

Election Day, November 4th, 2014 is one for the record books. Republicans took back the Senate and some seats still might be added in the Senate and House due to races still undecided.

True blue states of Maryland, Illinois and Massachusetts now have Republican governors. So does the home state of the Clintons, Arkansas.

Republicans elected Elise Stefanik of New York, who is now the youngest member of Congress, the first black female representative from Utah Mia Love, Tim Scott, the first black senator from the South since The Civil War, and Greg Abbot crushed “Abortion Barbie”, Wendy Davis. Not to mention Sandra Fluke is now updating her resume due to her loss. I heard Planned Parenthood has some openings. The blogosphere and the mainstream and cable media are scrambling to answer: what happened? Well, the Tea Party and Conservatives are what happened. We are the new base. The Republican Establishment is getting it and they better not forget it.
Many right leaning pundits have sung the song of “Unity”. Their posit was that all Tea Party members and Conservatives should simply vote down the line for Republicans regardless of the candidate. In their world, RINO’s are better than any Democrat. Really? That didn’t work out to well in 2012, now did it? Ann Coulter is an adherent of this theory. Sorry, Ann, we are conservatives first. Our vote has to be earned. We believe representatives serve us, not the other way around.
The difference in this election was the turnout and activism of the Tea Party and Conservatives. Period. We were motivated, organized & focused. We OWNED social edia. Every Twitter hashtag the left thought would buzz the MTV “millennials” we hijacked and took over. We motivated millions through Facebook. We know their game and we played it better. We are the new media.
So now what? Well, don’t forget why you were elected. Start with those 352 bills sitting on Harry Reid’s desk. Take his gavel and show him the door. Tell the President we are serious about passing meaningful legislation that will forward more energy independence and high paying jobs for the middle class. Place the legislation approving the Keystone Pipeline on the President’s desk. Secure the border!
Any bill trying to repeal ObamaCare will be vetoed, so employ a different strategy. It is held up with staples and duct tape. Instead of waiting until 2016-17’, repeal the “risk corridor” bailout payments to the insurance companies and the “Cadillac tax” exemption for union health plans immediately. These two things are easily defended to a waiting public. The left will have a hard time defending payoffs and handouts to “greedy” insurance companies and unions with health plans so generous they are not available to anyone else.
Introduce a flat tax. Such a measure would cut the IRS down to a manageable agency and NO ONE likes the IRS, so this would be like selling heaters in the Yukon.
Whatever you do, acknowledge how and why you won. You’re hired. Get busy. And don’t forget how you won come 2016. Ensure a conservative nominee for the 2016 Presidency. If you do, Hillary will be exposed as a lightweight.

Please share if you believe the GOP should recognize that this wave of red is an indication that America wants them to stand up to the Progressive agenda and fight it!
