Hispanic Paper Attacks CNN Presenter Dobbs

The largest Spanish-language newspaper in the US, the Los Angeles-based La Opinión, has launched a broadside against the CNN journalist Lou Dobbs, accusing him of retailing anti-immigrant opinions that are based on falsehoods.

An editorial states that "in Dobbs's universe, there is a secret Mexican conspiracy to take over the country's southwest". He also argues that Hispanic immigrants "are responsible for many of the country's murders and drunk drivers", that "millions of jobs have been stolen by immigrants", and that "they are responsible for the mortgage crisis and for bringing diseases [including leprosy] into the country."

The paper calls on CNN to investigate "Dobbs's falsehoods" if it wants to maintain its journalistic credibility.

Dobbs, a veteran CNN presenter, has made no secret of his opposition to illegal immigration. In his programme, Lou Dobbs Tonight, he frequently refers to immigration as an "invasion".

He is deeply offended by claims that he is guilty of Hispanophobia, pointing out that his wife, Debi Segura, is a Mexican-American.

Yeah right, Lou checks his facts and he is not going to stop stating them because he is attacked, he has been attacked for years for standing up!!!

Lou Dobbs is just reporting the facts. Illegal aliens are responsible for the mortgage crises, the bail outs, the stimulis bill, unemployment, swine flu, and diseases that were once gone from our nation until swarms of illegal aliens snuck in.

The Lou Dobbs show is an important part of your programming. There is mischief afoot to remove Mr. Dobbs from your lineup - especially from "www.bastadobbs.com". These are people who have no respect for our national borders, refer to illegal aliens as the "so called undocumented" on the internet and left wing radio, and call Mr. Dobbs a racist.

Please remember that millions watch Mr. Dobbs and listen to his radio program as well. If CNN eliminates his program, I and my family will be eliminated from your viewing audience.

I've often wondered why Lou,based in the NY area, doesn't do an expose on all the different neighborhoods of IAs from all over the world that are here in NYC.

Seems to me to be a missed opportunity.

These people are nuts, Lou has been very careful how he reports on illegal immigration, their accusations are slanderous and they have basically almost shut him up completely. But they will not get him off the air, they just can't stand the truth or freedom of speech.

We don't need Lou Dobbs or any other news station to point out what we see with our own eyes, so even if you ever manage to shut him up you can not change what Americans think, and we think Lou Dobbs is correct and accurate in his reporting, and we need and want more of it.
