Paige, on this issue we are ignored by the media and by politicians just as non-Hispanic Americans are (probably even more). There is also a level of danger present in some neighborhoods with high numbers of illegals and the heavily brainwashed socialist types.
This is so true. The mainstream media shows the marches and protests by illegal aliens. How often do you see legal immigrants or Americans of Hispanic descent on the main news or any other race/ethnicity? Not nearly as much as pro illegal groups. It does not mean that they are not out there. Plus a lot of time the media calls them immigrants making absolutely no distinction between legal and illegal. That helps them because then they can call you anti immigrant or racist.
Also the fear factor. There was a post the other day, I believe by DianaSanchez, where since she has begun speaking out she is treated differently when she goes to the grocery store. She is not giving up but I am sure there are others who are very frightened to speak up.
In my opinion, most of the media is pro illegal alien(regardless of ethnicity). Thank God for talk radio, the internet and blogs.

Does that 30 million figure include the 12-20 million who are here illegally and should not be allowed to vote anyway?

Great post, Mavi. The last paragraph hits the nail on the head. The notion of an Hispanic voter backlash against the rejection of the amnesty bill, is something the Establishment crowd is trying to foster.

Who is NOT pandering to illegals!

Hillary, Romney and Rudy all pander to voters in Spanish, so which candidates do not? I know Tancredo and Hunter are on our side, but frankly am afraid they will not get the nomination. I basically am disgusted with all the presidential front runners from both parties and am very upset about my potential choices. Anybody have any thought on how our cause can get an advocate to the White House in 2008?

As usual, the Globalist insider presidential candidates have a huge edge, going into the '08 elections.

While it's important to support those we believe in, be it Hunter, Tancredo, Paul etc., the Establishment will almost certainly have one of their candidates become the next POTUS. Congress is where the grass roots has the best chance of putting constitutionalist conservative candidates in office, and remains our best chance of effecting positive change, IMO.

If you assimilate then you have to let the government know you are here, learn to speak english, learn to live like an American, pay taxes and get your health care like we all do.
WHY IN THE HELL SHOULD THEY DO THAT WHEN AMERICA IS GIVING THEM A FREE RIDE TO STAY MEXICAN CITIZENS?
