Hispanically Speaking, Bush's English Ain't So Hot. So Watt?


The president's recent call for immigrants to learn English is a good thing.

It is also somewhat amusing..... because one can only pray to God that impressionable illegal aliens do NOT use our president as a model for English
articulation.

Actually, even though George Bush is perhaps the worstest* communicator in
our history, he is, in fact, trilingual and proficient in:

Mexican

Spanish, and

Texan. Otherwise known as pigeon English with a drawl.

Ultimately, Mr. Bush's Spanish-Mexican language skills may
benefit him if, God forbid, his immigration ideas become law.

How so? Because if the nation is BUSHwacked on this issue again,
illegal aliens from Mexico will soon outnumber US citizens.... on the
American side on the border.

At that happy day, at least GW will be able to remind the
millions of squatters he is so fond of that they are a decent,
good-hearted, hard-working majority.

In Spanish-Mexican----or depending on the education level
of his audience, Mexican-Spanish!


America will thus die, Hispanically Speaking.

You should hear folks from where I originate! Delaware/Maryland/Pennsylvania Mid-Atlantic "original vowel sounds."

Lived in New England for half adult life where they can't pronounce "R's" where there are "R's" and add them where there shouldn't be any! Lived down South where you feel like you're living on the set of HeeHaw, landed in Florida where English is second to Spanish. Been to California where they have invented a language all their own (to go with their soon to be separate land mass status!). Been to the Mid-West where fish and push are pronounced "feesh" and "poosh" and religion rules. Only place I haven't been yet as an adult (did as a very young child) is the Wild West which I understand from friends who have that it's a melting pot of Neon, Cowboy, and everything in between. I am one of the few people I know who has somehow wound up being "nothing" in terms of accent (like the TV anchors who must take classes to lose their regional accents wherever they hail from if they want to be an anchor). People have a great time trying to figure out where I'm from!

I have heard Georgis accents and don't put you down for if ...calling a Texan a pigeon is the same as calling a (MOD EDIT: See the rules) And a Texas accent is alot like Jeff Foxworthy.

I ADORE Jeff Foxworthy and his brethren "blue collar tv" jokesters. They are a riot!
