There is no intention to enforce illegal immigration. I lived next door to a house that illegal passed through (can't remember what they houses are called) on their entry into this country and I call ICE many times and nothing happened.
They know they are illegal and where they are, on the jobs, at school, in the bank, buying house, etc. They are not in the shadows.

Hey, McCainforpres, why would you want that yo-yo in office? McCain has little brains and a lot of mouth, that was obvious when he opened it and insulted hundreds of Americans by saying they couldn't do the work illegals do.

Remember what he got for that? LOTS of lettuce.

Ever see how red McCains face gets when he is confronted and does not like what people are saying or asking? He is headed for a coronary with that temper problem of his.

Come on McCainforpres, you can find someone better than that, how about Lou Dobbs????........

    Back in the Straddle
But God knows McCain is trying. He began this mid-October day in Sioux City, appearing at a fund-raising Siouxland Breakfast for Representative Steve King, an immigration hard-liner. Recently he had called McCain an "amnesty mercenary" for daring to work with Senator Ted Kennedy on a compromise bill that would provide an eventual path to citizenship for the millions of immigrant workers already in the United States illegally. A day earlier, in Milwaukee, in front of an audience of more sympathetic businessmen, McCain had been asked how debate over the immigration bill was playing politically. "In the short term, it probably galvanizes our base," he said. "In the long term, if you alienate the Hispanics, you'll pay a heavy price." Then he added, unable to help himself, "By the way, I think the fence is least effective. But I'll build the goddamned fence if they want it."
"I'm willing to negotiate anything," McCain tells the breakfast crowd in Sioux City, explaining that there is no way the millions of illegal aliens now here can be sent back to their countries of origin. But he acknowledges that anything seen as amnesty for illegals is "totally unacceptable, particularly to our Republican base." Later, McCain tells me that Congressman King "really knows this issue," but he sounds as if he is trying to persuade himself as much as me.

I saw this picture in our local paper, no red face as far as I can tell. There was some story on (Fox?), where some reporter was asking him a question, I keep thinking it was about his comments about picking lettuce to the Union Workers (the whole lettuce at his AZ office debachle), and he looked pretty ticked at the question and his face was red down to the neck. According to what I have read in the past, he does not tolerate pointed questions on his politics very well.

As well, he has flip-flopped so much it is hard to believe what he says he stands for, and hey, I am a Republican.
