Thread: How Liberals Plan To Destroy The Senate With 51 Votes

This is incredibly important to the immigration issue, as well as regarding judges and UN treaties. The Dems want to change the 60-vote filibuster rule on their first day back in the new Congress - on Jan 5 (the only day all year they can do this). And, they want to do it against the standing senate rule which requires 60 votes to change the rule. If they manage to do this, they can pass any immigration bill they want. My personal belief is that they want to do this in order to pass amnesty as they know they will never be able to get 60 votes. We will again be playing defense, with only the House to hopefully stop bills.

This has got to be stopped!

Everyone needs to contact Senate members to stop this before the 5th. I have heard that some Republicans are in favor of this and we cannot let this happen or we are sunk when it comes to illegal immigration.

What good would it do them anyway?

They can pass a hundred amnesty bills in the senate , but if they can't pass the house they are pounding sand

Yes you can

Any amnesty bill coming from the senate will have to get through the house

Besides , most of the dems are half way smart enough to know that if they change this rule it can come back and bite them hard in the future

If they had at least half a brain they should have tried this stunt 2 years ago

They were talking about this years ago.

Theres been talk for years because of frustration. But I don't see it happening. The dems would have the senate now but with the house they don't have it. In 2 years a rep president and senate coul undo everything they have done and would be much more likely to simply shove dems out and rid themselves of anything they don't want.

dems would be signing their own political death certificates also if they did that to try and cram through amnesty legislation. I think America is at the tipping point and the only saving grace right now is the hope reps fix some of the issues next year before the pot boils over and Americans rise up.
