Anh Cao, Talks to CNN-GOP that voted for Health Care-Video

Anh Cao, Only GOP To Vote For Health Reform, Talks To CNN

The morning after the House passed the health care reform bill 220-215, CNN interviews one of the Congressmen who voted for the bill, Anh "Joseph" Cao from Louisiana - the only Republican to vote "yes" for the bill. Cao claims it was "a decision of conscience... to support the health care reform bill... it was the right decision for the people of my district."

My mother, a registered Republican, had just rec'd a letter from him asking for donations, I guess for his campaign in 2010? She wrote some choice words on it and sent it back.

She also printed Kay Baily H. illegal alien and border fence record and sent it to Ms. Kay Baily when she came asking for $$$ and support.

Nothing like the truth to keep the money where it should be going - she sends Sheriff Joe in AZ $$$ monthly!

Actions do speak louder than words.

One interseting thing about Anh Cao.
Americans fought a long and costly war to fight the communist threat in Vietnam, the country that he and his family is from, Yet he votes to introduce the socialized takeover of our health care system.

One wonders if the communist threat is really dead.

It is not up to him to decide what is best for his district!

It is up to him to vote in a manner that represents the voice of the majority. Nowhere in that "speach" did he indicate that the majority of the people wanted this unconstitutional bill or to be saddled with the (financial and medical) results passing this will have on them.

If he really thought that Nobama would continue to financially support ongoing recovery efforts in LA as a result of Katrina if he didn't vote Nobama's way, he's sadly mistaken.

He knew exactly what he was doing.

RINO! And the people in his district would be wise to vote him out before he does more damage.

Actually, Congresscritters are supposed to vote the will of their district, not the will of the majority. The majority a Congresscritter is supposed to vote for is the people who vote for them. That's our system of representative democracy, that is how the majority is determined. If Cao is voted out in Louisiana, he'll be replaced with a Democrat, because it's a Democratic district.

Republicans are the minority by a wide margin in the United States and because of that, we'll only have control of the Congress in rare and unusual situations, which is why when we are in charge, we have to do the things we have always done until recently, which is put in place protections of our liberty, our people, our trade, our borders and our nation when the people of the United States have handed us that power.

We controlled the White House, the US House of Representatives and the Senate for almost 6 years and did nothing except ban federal spending on abortions worldwide, banned partial birth abortions in the United States, banned embryonic stem cell research in the US, ran up our deficits, expanded free trade treason and opened our borders even more than they were, and started two wars in two countries who had done nothing to us, which was and is the "conservative" agenda.

A Republican agenda would have never banned abortion spending or embryonic stem cell research, may have possibly run up some deficits but not without a plan to pay them off in short-order, never have expanded free trade treason and would have and should have repealed NAFTA since the evidence was clear it was costing US jobs and strengthened our protected trade policies instead of weakening them, never opened the borders or promoted guest worker permits or amnesty in any shape or form and thought twice about invading 2 countries that had done nothing to us and had no plans to.

Conservatives got what they wanted. If this isn't what they actually wanted, then maybe they need to stop pushing "conservative" agendas and stand up for liberty and prosperity like Republicans have done for the past 155 years. I strongly recommend it.

That's what the people of his district wanted. It's probably a poor, low-income working district, with multi-generational Americans who work hard but don't make enough wages to pay their bills and purchase health insurance. The problem isn't our health care system, aside from a few peculiarities within that industry like the bizaare anti-trust exemption preventing interstate sales and the fact that 80% of our hospitals are phony charities selling services for profit as "not-for-profit" tax exempt enterprises, the problem is the lack of earnings, deflated incomes, unemployment and underemployment because of the spiraling job losses.

Until the Republican Party gets a jobs platform and fixes our economy, we may win elections from time to time, but we're not going to solve any problems or make things better, all we're going to do is steal liberty on the one hand while allowing the Democrats to steal it on the other, the complete opposite of what our party was formed to do.

The Republican Party, united with Independents, needs to go into the 2010 and 2012 elections with this platform and then deliver on it:

    1. stop illegal immigration
    2. pass the FairTax
    3. protect our trade
    4. legalize/regulate/tax under 2 the illegal drug trade
    5. drill baby drill

It's not complicated. It's very simple. On personal issues, we need to be moot, neutral, pro-choice, laissez-faire, leave the people alone. That is the liberty the Republican Party was formed to secure and has fought for every day of its 155 year history, not just the liberty some like, but all liberty, liberty and equality for women, liberty and equality for minorities, liberty and equality for gays.

If you don't believe in abortions, don't have one. If you don't believe in same sex marriage, marry someone of the opposite sex. Please, please, please don't make these matters issues of the Republican Party when trying to force women into childbirth against their will is not only as Dark Age as it gets it's the complete opposite of what the Republican Party has stood for since its inception, just like forcing homosexuals to live lonely empty lives without a family or a spouse is, which is just downright mean and cruel, in my opinion. I don't understand homosexuality, because I'm not gay, but I understand the joy, comfort and contentment of marriage, and would never want to deny that to anyone who sought it, so long as the mate is a consenting adult of legal age, and the marriage contract is with one spouse at a time.

"laissez-faire" ... leave the people alone.

As to the communists, they're all over our country because we allow them to migrate here, same with the socialists, then they get in the government and take over. It's why Republicans have always known we need to strictly control our borders and protect our trade to secure our own liberty and prosperity.

Yup. A poor section of New Orleans. He replaced William "Cold Cash" Jefferson, who was indicted and convicted of bribery last year. To show you how this district votes, they re-elected Jefferson AFTER he was indicted and arrested.

while we all know how the vote came out, i was watching a replay of the final few seconds of the vote, and the dems already had the 218 before Cao voted. i have since found out that he met with obama and was promised more action in regards to the recovery from the hurricane and asked that over ONE BILLION DOLLARS in debt be forgiven for those affected by the hurricane.....................

the Wall Street Journal reports that Cao voted for the bill after getting promises that loans by katrina victims would be forgiven
Mr. Cao wants the Department of Homeland Security to forgive $1.27
billion in disaster loans in the wake of Hurricane Katrina; officials
    said they would try.

    ------ AND ------------------

Mr. Cao's vote may have been easier to get. The Republican won his
overwhelmingly Democratic seat from a Democrat, William Jefferson, who
faced corruption charges. Antiabortion Democrats told White House
legislative aides that Mr. Cao's vote could be gotten with a deal on
abortion. But ac...cording to two House officials, hurricane relief came
up as well. Mr. Cao wants the Department of Homeland Security to
forgive $1.27 billion in disaster loans in the wake of Hurricane
Katrina; officials said they would try.
Promises of more attention to New Orleans were easy. Democratic
leaders already knew they were likely to deliver similar pledges to
Sen. Mary Landrieu (D., La.), another wavering lawmaker. Mr. Cao said
in a statement that he won a commitment from Mr. Obama to address
issues involving Louisiana hospitals and the disaster-loan forgiveness.

The more I look, the more I see that the majority of these politicians that are, "elected" to office by the people, supposedly, have no honor or integrity anymore. It seems the majority of them are nothing more than shills for corporations and other special interest groups. I think too many of them are paid and funded to run for office under the guise of "Republican" just to help Democrats push their Socialist agendas.

In other words, these guys don't care which team jersey they wear, they are going to get paid and receive kickbacks no matter what and they play the game the same way a prize fighter will sometimes deliberately lose a fight...he gets a pay back either way.

There should be laws written that if a politician does not live up to or seriously work toward at least 95% of his campaign promises within the first year that he will automatically be up for impeachment.

They're ALL liars! They aren't working for us anymore and aren't even trying to hide it! We the people are just after thoughts and slaves that supply them with money to do what ever they please without consulting us. We want our borders secured, they ignore us. We don't want Obama care, they ignore us, we want the Federal Reserve audited, they ignore us. We want our country ran by the Constitution, they ignore us. HOW MUCH LONGER ARE WE GOING TO STAND FOR THIS?
